Methods of manufacture of the cell assembly are also provided, wherein each of a series of stacked substantially planar components selected from cathodes, separators, and anodes includes a through hole, and wherein the through holes are concentrically aligned with the adjacent component before securing the assembly using an elongated tube to form a continuous cooling channel through the components.
