Abstract: The subject of the application is a device which supports mass flow of rod-shaped articles of the tobacco industry in a transport channel, having at least two segments (2, 3) connected by a connecting element (4), characterised in that the segments (2) are provided with positioning means (7, 8) which mate with the elements of the conveyor to set the position of the supporting device relative to the elements of the conveyor (5a, 5b).

Abstract: The object of the application is a method for measuring the quality of connection in a tobacco industry's rod-like article comprising a rod (1A, 1B) with a filler (2, 3, 5, 6) and a wrapper (4A, 4B), characterized in that the tested rod (1A, 1B) used in the tobacco industry's article is fixed in a measuring device in a seat (11) for fixing the rod (1A, 1B) in a rotary measuring table (10), then the rotary measuring table (10) is put in rotary motion, by means of the measuring unit the advancement of the filler (3, 6) of the tested rod from the wrapper (4A, 4B) is measured, and the quality of connection between the wrapper (4A, 4B) and the rod (1A, 1B) filler (3, 6) is determined on the basis of the extent of advancement of the rod (1A, 1B) filler (3, 6), and the centrifugal force. The object of the application is also a device for measuring the quality of connection.

Abstract: A method for opening cigarettes constituting cigarette waste in a device comprising a rotational drum (1) the inner wall of which is provided with at least one scraping away element (2, 2?, 2?) extending generally along the drum, and at least one rotational beater (4, 4?, 4?) located inside the drum (1) striking against the cigarettes, wherein the cigarettes fed into the rotating drum (1) and being lifted by means of at the least one scraping away element (2, 2?, 2?) and falling by gravity, are struck against by means of the at least one rotational beater (4, 4?, 4?) in a direction substantially perpendicular to the axes of the cigarettes with a force enabling their opening. A device for realization of the method of the invention.

Abstract: The object of the application is a transferring method and apparatus for transferring of a rod-like article from a delivery apparatus to a receiving apparatus, whereas the article is transferred lengthwise between the delivery apparatus and the receiving apparatus, comprising an inlet unit for the lengthwise transfer of the rod-like article and for giving an inlet speed to the rod-like article, an outlet unit for the lengthwise transfer of the rod-like article and for giving an outlet speed to the rod-like article, a transferring channel through which a rod-like article is transferred between the inlet unit and the outlet unit characterized in that between the inlet unit and the outlet unit is situated a transferring unit designed to give a transferring speed to the rod-like article and to transfer the rod-like article along the transferring channel to the outlet unit.

Abstract: A system for manufacturing rod-like articles, comprising a machine for manufacturing the rod-like articles or a feeding device for delivering the rod-like articles, a first measuring unit for measuring at least one quality parameter of the manufactured rod-like articles, a device for dividing a stream of the rod-like articles into a first stream and into a second stream, a first transferring device, which receives the first stream of the rod-like articles and transfers this stream as an output stream of the rod-like articles manufacturing system, a second transferring device which transfers inspected rod-like article to the output stream of the rod-like articles on the first transferring device.

Abstract: Ledger mechanism for rod making machines of tobacco industry comprising a first stationary ring gear (4), a first orbiting gear (5) staying in mesh with the first stationary ring gear (4), a second movable ring gear (6), a second orbiting gear (7) staying in mesh with the second movable ring gear (6). The ledger mechanism comprises a ledger (11) mechanically connected with the second movable ring gear (6) and the axis of the second orbiting gear (7) is coaxial with the axis of the first orbiting gear (5).

Abstract: The object of the application is a transfer disc (2) for the transferring of tobacco industry's rod-like articles (5) provided with lugs (3), where the disc is characterized in that a front surface (3A) of the lug (3) is inclined in a direction corresponding to the direction (T1) of rotation of the transfer disc (2), and the lug (3) is configured so that it hits a rod-like article (5) above the longitudinal axis (X) of the rod-like article (5).

Abstract: The object of the application is a filling hopper for a filling apparatus for multi-segment trays in the tobacco industry with a receiving region for rod like articles in the form of a mass flow and a storing region for rod like articles comprising side walls (8, 9) and a bottom wall (10), whereas the storing region has double partition walls (16) alternately forming a plurality of parallel cavities (15) and slots (14), where the partition walls (16) extend in principle along the entire height of the storing region. The partition walls (16) are connected with each other by means of a carrying framework so that at least from one side free access to the articles inside the cavities (15) is maintained. The carrying framework comprises at least one fastening area (19).

Abstract: Device for transferring cylindrical segments from a hopper onto a grouping belt is provided with a guiding drum, having flutes on its periphery and a circumferentially closed conveyor which delivers segments to a rotary element with pushers. Conveyor with seats with a catching element for catching segments, and transferring the segments from the conveyor to the element is effected by means of a spiral drum. The device has a push-down element constituted by a cam with a groove of a height corresponding to the diameter of the segment. The catching element has the form of a depression in the body of the seat shaped as a half of a cylinder, corresponding to the diameter of the segment, with locks on edges, whereas the axis of the depression is perpendicular to the direction of motion of the conveyor.

Abstract: The object of the application is an apparatus for picking up a loose substance in the tobacco industry equipment comprising a loose substance feeding unit provided with a loose substance feeding tape and a picking up unit, characterized in that the picking up unit (6) is provided with vacuum pockets (7) cooperating with scrapers (30), whereas the vacuum pockets (7) together with the scrapers (30) are adapted to moving relative to the loose substance (2) feeding tape (3). In addition, the objects of the application are a scraper and a picking up method.

Abstract: Method and system for arranging cigarette packs according to the position of the filters of the cigarettes contained in the packs, each pack being provided on its outside with a detectable indicator (5), the position of the indicator on the pack (1) in relation to the filters of the cigarettes contained in the packs being predefined, in which the packs are successively delivered in the form of a first stream (7) of the packs travelling on a conveyor (6) to a detection station (8) for detecting the indicators (5) where the position of the indicator on each particular pack is detected, the packs being subsequently arranged depending on the position of the indicator (5) detected thereon by the driving means (12) controlled basing on the information concerning the position of the indicators received from the detection station (8). The arranging consists in dividing the first stream (7) of the packs into at least two separate streams of the travelling packs.

Abstract: A method of destructive opening cigarette packs in which the packs are successively mechanically deformed by deflection of at least one wall of each pack toward the outside of the pack, then the deflected wall of the pack is incised from the outside and a pack opening element is slid between the deflected wall of the pack and the cigarettes contained therein, and the pack is opened from the inside by means of the pack opening element. An apparatus for destructive opening cigarette packs using the method according to the invention.

Abstract: A method and device for feeding beads in a tobacco industry system including a bead container, a bead feeding unit having a plurality of channels for supplying a plurality of bead streams, a unit for transferring the beads to the filter material, where the beads are fed from holding pockets of the bead feeding unit to receiving pockets of the bead transfer unit, in which the beads are supplied from the bead container to a plurality of channels of the bead feeding unit which form holding pockets; the beads are fed from the holding pockets of the bead feeding unit to the receiving pockets of the bead transfer unit and to a delivery wheel by a movable feeding device; the beads are picked up from the receiving pockets by a movable guiding device.

Abstract: Setting of reciprocal position of filter segments (3) delivered from multiple modules (1) of a machine for manufacturing filters is accomplished by registering the position and the length of a segment (3) from each module (1) on a carrier element (2) of a grouping unit when the filter manufacturing process is switched off, after which the reciprocal position of the segments (3) and the length between the segments (3) are set. The said operations may be accomplished by means of a sensor (4), the registering element (12) or by mapping the relative positions of adjacent segments (3) in the control system.

Abstract: The object of the invention is a unit for conveying filter segments (2) for the machines of tobacco industry, comprising a chain conveyor (10) in a horizontal arrangement on which the lugs (21) are disposed, the working ends (28) of which are deflected from the vertical. The unit comprises guides (23, 33) of the filter segments (2) provided with an inclined channel (27) guiding the lug (21).

Abstract: The object of the application is a detachable cutting head for an apparatus for feeding filter segments provided with a drum conveyor having flutes for crosswise movement of filter rods, provided with circular knives situated in knife units mounted in the housing of the head, characterized in that it comprises a housing of the head (8) provided with a reference surface (23) for positioning in the apparatus for feeding filter segments; seatings (20, 21) for positioning the knife units (10) and lead-out channels (25), knife units (10) with circular knives (6), whereas the positioning seatings (20, 21) are situated so that the circular knives (6) do not overlap. Furthermore, the object of the application is a drive apparatus of a cutting head and a method of coupling a cutting head.
