  • Patent number: 10875745
Abstract: The application relates to a handrail-drive system of an escalator. The handrail-drive system includes a handrail drive with drive elements and a belt-form handrail which can be moved in a circulatory manner. The handrail is delimited by an outer contour configured as a gripping surface and by an inner contour which leaves a cavity free in the handrail. The driving force is transmitted from the drive elements to the handrail on two mutually opposite side surfaces of the inner contour, wherein a complementary configuration of the side surfaces makes it possible for all the other forces which are caused by the transmission of the driving force and act between the side surfaces to compensate for one another.

Abstract: A method for mounting a guide rail in an elevator system elevator shaft first carries out mounting steps by a mounting device having a carrier component, an installation component and a control apparatus controlling the installation component. The control apparatus determines, on the basis of an actual position of the mounting device and a desired position of a guide rail to be installed, a position of a marking on a shaft wall of the elevator shaft relative to the actual position of the mounting device. Based on the marking, an installation step determines the desired position of the guide rail. The marking is applied to the shaft wall by the installation component. The previous steps are followed by the steps of alignment the guide rail in relation to the marking and fastening the guide rail to the shaft wall, which steps can be performed manually by an installer.

  • Patent number: 10836605
Abstract: An elevator car has at least one balustrade attached to a roof of the elevator car, which balustrade can be pivoted about a rotation axis between a folded-down position, in which the balustrade is arranged essentially horizontally, and a raised position, in which the balustrade is arranged essentially vertically. The balustrade is mechanically coupled to a 3-state switch, which switch can adopt three different switching states. The balustrade and the 3-state switch thus cooperate such that the 3-state switch adopts a first switching state when the balustrade is in the folded-down position, the 3-state switch adopts a second switching state when the balustrade is in the raised position, and the 3-state switch adopts a third switching state when the balustrade is in neither the folded-down position nor the raised position.

  • Publication number: 20200339384
Abstract: A method and system for inspecting and monitoring an elevator installation includes sending an autonomous flying object having at least one sensor to the elevator installation, and granting access to a hoistway of the elevator installation to the autonomous flying object. The autonomous flying object is positioned within the hoistway, and data collected by the associated sensor is sent to a remote elevator service center. The autonomous flying object and the associated sensor can be used to monitor and inspect the elevator installation on a temporary basis, for example for a specific number of hours, days or weeks. Once the autonomous flying object has gained access to the hoistway, the elevator installation can resume normal operation thereby keeping downtime to a minimum. After completing its tasks at one elevator installation, the autonomous flying object can be directed by the remote elevator service center to monitor and inspect another elevator installation.

  • Patent number: 10807833
Abstract: A method for erecting an elevator system in an elevator shaft of a building includes performing at least one lift process to adapt a usable lift height of the elevator system to an increasing height of the building. During the lift process, a drive platform, which supports an elevator drive machine and, via a flexible support, an elevator car and a counterweight, is lifted along at least one elevator car guide rail. Prior to the lift process, the at least one elevator car guide rail is elongated in the upwards direction above the drive platform and fixed to a shaft wall of the elevator shaft by at least one auxiliary support in the region of the elongation. After the lift process, the at least one auxiliary support, which then lies below the drive platform, is replaced by a final guide rail mounting which is designed differently than the auxiliary support.

  • Patent number: 10781074
Abstract: A monitoring device for an elevator system is used with an assembly device for assembling a shaft retrofit and a method for monitoring an assembly platform. The monitoring device monitors movements of an elevator car and includes a sensor system for detecting a movement variable and at least one analysis device that evaluates the detected movement variable and compares it to a threshold. If the threshold is exceeded, a signal output is triggered to actuate a brake/catching device. The monitoring device selects the threshold from specified thresholds based on a state of the monitoring device. The specified thresholds include at least one normal operation threshold, and the monitoring device indicates a normal state as soon as specified connection elements are connected to it. The monitoring device further contains a checking routine for determining a state of the monitoring device, and selects the threshold from specified thresholds based on the state.

  • Publication number: 20200290842
Abstract: In a system with an elevator system, a host can grant a visitor access to a building and switch the elevator system into a visitor operating mode in order to transport the visitor to a destination floor. The host can initiate a movement of the elevator car to a first defined floor, on which a visitor would like to enter an elevator car, by means of an input on a mobile device. A camera arranged in the elevator car and a camera recording, which is produced by means of said camera and displayed on the mobile device, enable the host to check if only the user is located in the elevator car. If this is the case, the host can initiate the movement of the elevator car to the destination floor by means of an additional input on the mobile device.

  • Patent number: 10766741
Abstract: A method for monitoring a conveying system with a monitoring device includes recording a signal pattern progression in relation to a functional unit of the conveying system. A reference signal progression is stored in a database as is a correlation data set for the reference signal progression, the correlation data set including instants or time segments in the reference signal progression and reference to the functional unit. The reference is linked to each instant or time segment, the recorded signal pattern progression is compared with the reference signal progression by a processing unit, and in the event of deviation between the signal progressions an entry in the correlation data set belonging to the reference signal progression is determined by the processing unit on the basis of an instant or time segment of such a deviation, and the functional unit referenced there is output as a cause.
