Abstract: During an evacuation situation in a building equipped with an elevator system, in which building a plurality of fixed point markers are arranged at specified locations, a sequence of floors (L1, L2, L3) to be evacuated according to which the elevator system services the floors (L1, L2, L3) is determined. The sequence depends on the current traffic situations on the floors (L1, L2, L3). The traffic situation is, in turn, based on the instantaneous positions of the mobile devices. These positions are each determined in each case when a mobile device, by means of data received from a first fixed point marker, accesses a database in which the data is linked to a site of the first fixed point marker.
Abstract: An electrical or electromechanical installation includes a central processor for controlling operation of the electrical or electromechanical installation, a computer communicatively coupled to the central processor to output a control signal to the central processor, and a first video camera communicatively coupled to the computer to output an image signal to the computer. The computer has a memory storing computer instructions to determine facial characteristics from a person's face data comprised in the image signal, to categorizing the facial characteristics into at least one of predefined emotion categories, and to generate a control signal corresponding to the at least one of predefined emotion categories. The central controller operates the electrical or electromechanical installation in accordance with one of several operational modes, wherein the one of several operational modes is selected as a function of the control signal.
Abstract: The application relates to a method for modernizing an existing escalator or an existing moving walkway. The method can include removing all the electrical and mechanical parts from the existing framework of the existing escalator or of the existing moving walkway, the existing framework having two framework side parts and a base structure connecting said framework side parts, and the framework side parts being connected to each other by means of cross members disposed at a distance from the base structure; and replacing the existing cross members of the existing framework with new cross members, the two framework side parts of the existing framework being connected to each other in a mutually stabilising manner at least one point at a distance from the base structure of the framework, during replacement of the cross members.

Abstract: An elevator system has a car and a suspension device, wherein the car is least partially carried by the suspension device. The suspension device includes several electrically conductive tension members that are arranged parallel to one another and are essentially enclosed by a jacket. The suspension device is attached to suspension device mounting fixtures, wherein the suspension device mounting fixtures each include a housing and a clamping element. The housing and the clamping element have clamping surfaces between which the suspension device is clamped. The clamping element and/or the housing is made of an electrically insulating material.
Abstract: In order to guide a person along a path, audible acoustic signals are used, which are generated by signal generators arranged in an area. The person can orient themselves in the area using these acoustic signals. As the person moves along the path towards a destination, the signal generator arranged next in line on the path generates an acoustic signal, in which direction the person can then move. A signal generator generates an acoustic signal of this type, when it receives a control command from a mobile device carried with the person or from a control device.
Abstract: A caliper brake for elevator systems has at least one, and preferably two, brake calipers. Each brake caliper has at least one brake pad on a respective brake arm pivoted at a fulcrum. The brake caliper can be swiveled at least into a ready position and into a braking position. The brake arm is elastic and preferably embodied at least partly as a leaf spring.
Abstract: Chain links and a conveyor chain that is highly resilient, in a tensile direction, for a moving walkway, an escalator or a lift. A chain link can include two chain link connector receiving regions arranged at opposing ends for receiving a chain link connector, which mechanically connects two neighboring chain links to one another in such a way that a tensile force can be transmitted therebetween. The chain link can also include a loop closed in a ring shape and surrounding the two chain link connector receiving regions. The loop can be formed with a fiber composite material. The fiber composite material is preferably in the form of a loop-like closed band, in which fibers, such as carbon fibers that can be subjected to high levels of tension, are embedded in an elastomer-matrix material.

Abstract: A damper unit for an elevator for reducing vertical vibrations of an elevator car of the elevator during a standstill includes a stamp-like acting element that acts on an end-face guide surface of a guide rail. The acting element is spaced from the guide rail in an idle position and can be connected slip-free to the guide rail by an eccentric drive in an active position. Force transmitting elements containing a shock damper for damping the motions of the elevator car during a standstill of the car adjoin the acting element.

The connecting device includes a rail element with two legs, of which a first leg bears in the mounted state against the bare ceiling and a second leg has a mounting surface for the at least one wall element. The access control system sends an access code to the device. In a second area, the user presents the portable electronic device to an access terminal, which reads the access code from the device. If the access code read from the device matches the access code that was sent to the device by the system, then the access control system grants access to the user.
Abstract: A method for servicing at least one component of an elevator installation, wherein the component is provided with a mark, and the mark permits identification of this component, includes the steps of: reading in the mark by a reading device; listing, by the reading device at least one working step necessary for servicing the component, wherein the working step which is to be listed is determined on the basis of data which can be obtained from the mark; executing the servicing of the component; and inputting a confirmation into the reading device, by which confirmation the servicing which has been carried out on the component is confirmed. The method is performed by a servicing system for the elevator installation.
Abstract: A safety circuit for an elevator system includes a plurality of switch contacts, at least one first switch contact, and a control unit. The at least one first switch contact can be switched electronically and can be bridged using a conductive bridging element, in particular for maintenance or testing purposes. Additionally, the control unit is directly or indirectly connected to the safety circuit. The at least one first switch contact can be switched on the basis of instructions of the control unit in order to change the state of the safety circuit. In the process, the at least one control unit detects the absence of the state change of the safety circuit, in particular when the at least one first switch contact is being bridged by the bridging element.
Abstract: An elevator brake braking and holding an elevator car in an elevator system includes a first brake lining having a first actuating device and a second brake lining, which brake linings cause braking in interaction with a braking strip or brake disk. A second actuating device is associated with the second brake lining, and the second actuating device moves the second brake lining toward the first brake lining, if necessary, thus clamping and braking the braking strip or the brake disk between the second and first brake linings. The first actuating device moves the first brake lining toward the second brake lining to clamp and brake the braking strip or the brake disk between the first and second brake linings. The first and the second actuating device operate according to different principles of operation.
Abstract: The application relates to passenger transport systems and related methods. The passenger transport system has multiple step units, a comb plate, a monitoring device, and a marking device. The step units are to be moved one behind the other continuously along a predefined movement path during normal operation. The comb plate is arranged at a fixed position relative to the predefined movement path. The monitoring device is configured to monitor an actual position of a currently monitored step unit relative to the predefined movement path and to detect a deviation of the actual position from the predefined movement path by more than an allowable tolerance value and activate the marking device in response thereto. Upon being activated, the marking device is configured to mark the currently monitored step unit and/or a step unit spatially correlating to the currently monitored step unit.

Abstract: During an evacuation situation in a building that is equipped with an elevator system and in which a plurality of fixed point markers are arranged at defined sites, an escape route is transmitted to a person by means of a mobile device. The fixed point markers store data that can be received by the mobile device. An instantaneous position of the mobile device can be determined when the mobile device uses data received from a fixed point marker to access a database in which the data is linked to a site of the fixed point marker. The ascertainment of the escape route to a destination is based on the instantaneous position of the mobile device. The person is registered on reaching the destination when the mobile device is detected at the destination.
