Abstract: A connector arranged to prevent connection failure due to foreign matter trapped between contacts and a connectable object. The contacts have a first movable piece portion, the anterior end including a first contacting portion for contact with a flexible circuit, the posterior end pressable by a press member in a direction opposite the flexible circuit, a second movable piece portion, the anterior end including a second contacting portion for contact with the flexible circuit, the posterior end of first and second movable piece portions being integrally formed, and a springy piece portion for displacing the movable piece portions. Pressing the posterior end of the first movable piece portion by the press member causes the contacting portions to come into pressure contact with the flexible circuit. The contacting portions being brought into two-point contact with the flexible circuit by the press member pressing the contacts.

  • Publication number: 20120142226
Abstract: An electrical connection terminal arranged such that when the amount of displacement of one of a first contact portion and a second contact portion increases, a decrease in the contact pressure of the other contact portion is effectively suppressed, and a connector in which the electrical connection terminal is used. Between first and second elastic pieces and a fixed piece, a third elastic piece is provided such that when one of a first contact portion and a second contact portion is displaced in the direction of contact with a mating terminal, the amount of displacement of the other contact portion in the direction of contact with the mating terminal becomes smaller than the amount of displacement of the other contact portion in the insertion and removal direction of the mating terminal. Connection reliability by two-point contact may be improved.

  • Publication number: 20120094520
Abstract: A connector comprising a connector main body for insertion of an object to be connected; a plurality of contacts disposed at intervals from one another within the connector main body in the width direction; and a freely rotatable press member for pressing respective contacts against the inserted object to be connected. When the press member is rotated in one direction, respective contacts are pressed toward the object to be connected by the press member and, when the press member is rotated in the other direction, the press of the respective contacts by the press member is cancelled. A rotation fulcrum of the press member is provided between one and the other ends so that when one end of the press member is pressed, the press member rotates in one direction and, when the other end of the press member is pressed, the press member rotates in the other direction.

  • Patent number: 8113884
Abstract: A connector capable of easily forming shield members which can be attached to a housing comprises a socket capable of fitting into the plug, plural socket terminals capable of electrically connecting the plug when the plug fits into the socket, a pair of tabular first socket side shield members covering the front face portion and the back face portion of the socket respectively, and a pair of the first attachment grooves respectively at both ends in the width direction of the front and the back face portions. The first attachment grooves can be inserted into and hold both ends in the width direction of the first socket side shield members. Therefore, it becomes possible to attach the first socket side shield members without having a lock piece, etc., at the first socket side shield members. The first socket side shield members can be formed easily.

  • Publication number: 20110194291
Abstract: Each of electrode terminals is provided with an electrode connection section connected to an electrode of an electric discharge tube. When an exterior member is mounted on a housing, a concave section of the exterior member abuts on the electrode connection section of the electrode terminal, to displace the electrode connection section in a direction in which the electrode of the electric discharge tube is held therein. Thus, the exterior member is mounted on the housing so that connection between the electrode of the electric discharge tube and the electrode connection section can be completed. Therefore, connection work can be significantly easily performed without requiring soldering and press fitting.

  • Publication number: 20110159738
Abstract: A reinforcing plate fixed to a connector main body is arranged on a bottom surface of the connector main body to come into surface contact with a surface of a substrate while a plurality of holes is provided on a surface, which contacts the substrate, of the reinforcing plate. When the reinforcing plate is soldered to the substrate, therefore, a solder wraps around not only a peripheral edge of the reinforcing plate but also an edge of each of the holes so that a soldering portion between the reinforcing plate and the substrate can be sufficiently ensured.

  • Publication number: 20100224601
Abstract: When a laser beam is incident on a thin film, carbide generated by the heat of the beam is not ejected between respective metallic thin plates. In each of second conductive sections of a metallic thin plate, a slit extends from a welding position to the end of the second conductive section. The second conductive sections are respectively welded to terminals by making the laser beam incident on the respective welding positions of a substrate for the thin film. Thereby, when the beam is incident on a resin, the resin is carbonized by the thermal energy of the laser beam and the resin carbide is ejected from the welded portion, and the carbide is discharged to the outside from the lower end of the second conductive section via the slit of the second conductive section. Thereby, the carbide is not ejected between the adjacent second conductive sections. Consequently, lowering of the insulation resistance between the respective second conductive sections due to the carbide is prevented.

  • Publication number: 20100159749
Abstract: A connector prevents a terminal from short circuiting when the terminal is elastically deformed with movement of a movable housing. The length in the width direction at one end of each terminal is larger than the length in the width direction at the other end, so the distance between the terminals at the other end is larger than the distance between the terminals at one end, thereby preventing adjacent terminals from contacting each other when movable terminal portions are elastically deformed.
