Abstract: Base modules are provided over a backplane network for high availability control of industrial processes or machines. The base modules may include, for example, an I/O base module, which may control the industrial processes or machines and which may releasably receive an I/O function card, an adapter base module, which may communicate with an industrial controller over a separate control network, and a bus expansion base module, which may provide coupling to another bank of base modules. The base modules may be arranged side-by-side via electrical and mechanical connections. Logic of the I/O base module may detect the presence or absence of the I/O function card to allow coupling or bypassing of the I/O function card with respect to the backplane network.

Abstract: A bed for at least one animal is provided. The bed includes a strip of belting having a front end, a back end, and opposing sides, an animal bed having a first fluid chamber and a second fluid chamber. The first fluid chamber is provided within the strip of belting and includes a first width extending between a first side and a second side of the first fluid chamber. The second fluid chamber is provided within the strip of belting and includes a second width extending between a first side and a second side of the second fluid chamber. A first fluid supply tube is in fluid connection with the first chamber, and a second fluid supply tube is in fluid connection with the second chamber, wherein the first and second chambers are fluidly isolated from one another. A method of preparing for use a bed for at least one animal is also provided. In addition, a system for using a bed for at least one animal is also provided.

Abstract: Address resolution in an unnumbered, pseudo-point-to-point network utilizes address transmissions, such as an address advertisement or an address response, in order to obtain address information for use in frame addressing. In one embodiment, routers communicate using a multi-access data link layer protocol, such as Ethernet, but in a physical configuration which restricts data link layer communications to going between only two nodes, thereby negating the multi-access application of the protocol. With only one possible terminal node, address space is conserved by use of unnumbered network interfaces.

Abstract: Method, device and apparatus for delivering video telephony by using a media controller and a software defined networking (SDN) controller to enable multicasting for multi-party video conferencing. A media controller generates a video sending rate for each of the plurality of client devices based on a received video conference request and received network information. The media controller determines and independently constructs a maximum-rate delay-bounded multicast tree for each of the plurality of client devices that supports the largest possible multicast rate. The media controller determines a common congested link in the multicast trees, re-routes the multicast tree with the common congested link for the client device with the lowest weight of utility divided by its video sending rate and creating two subtrees, and iteratively re-routes the multicast trees until an aggregate video sending rate of the multicast trees sharing the common congested link meets a link capacity of the common congested link.

Abstract: Techniques are described for managing program execution capacity, such as for a group of computing nodes that are provided for executing one or more programs for a user. In some situations, dynamic program execution capacity modifications for a computing node group that is in use may be performed periodically or otherwise in a recurrent manner, such as to aggregate multiple modifications that are requested or otherwise determined to be made during a period of time. In addition, various operations may be performed to attribute causality information or other responsibility for particular program execution capacity modifications that are performed, including by attributing a single event as causing one capacity modification, and a combination of multiple events as possible causes for another capacity modification. The techniques may in some situations be used in conjunction with a fee-based program execution service that executes multiple programs on behalf of multiple users of the service.

Abstract: A server includes a data communication controller and an analyzer for monitoring social changes in a neighborhood and providing indicators to appropriate agencies. The data communication controller receives from a plurality of information sources, through a telecommunication network, a plurality of social behaviors for a particular neighborhood and a plurality of monitoring criteria. The analyzer assigns a weight for each social behavior according to the monitoring criteria, calculates a total score for the monitoring criteria, compares the total score against the monitoring criteria, and generates an indicator if the total score matches a criterion in the monitoring criteria. The data communication controller sends the indicator to a third party agency.

Abstract: The adaptive computing system described herein may generally include a modular control, switching, and power supply architecture. In particular, the adaptive computing system may provide a platform supporting multiple independent desktop computer modules that occupy less physical space than a standalone commercial computer, provide performance density comparable to current server solutions, and address concerns relating to stability, safety, productivity, performance, assembly, service, and other factors important to diverse desktop computer user communities. Moreover, mechanical, electrical, and functional components associated with the adaptive computing system may have various certifications or otherwise be relied upon to demonstrate compliance with criteria in regulatory, environmental, consumer safety, and other contexts.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to an MRAM element comprising a magnetic free layer structure and a magnetic reference layer structure with an insulating tunnel junction layer interposed therebetween. The magnetic free layer structure has a variable magnetization direction substantially perpendicular to the layer plane thereof. The magnetic reference layer structure includes a first magnetic reference layer formed adjacent to the insulating tunnel junction layer and a second magnetic reference layer separated from the first magnetic reference layer by a first non-magnetic perpendicular enhancement layer. The first and second magnetic reference layers have a first fixed magnetization direction substantially perpendicular to the layer plane thereof.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides oxidative coupling of methane (OCM) systems for small scale and world scale production of olefins. An OCM system may comprise an OCM subsystem that generates a product stream comprising C2+ compounds and non-C2+ impurities from methane and an oxidizing agent. At least one separations subsystem downstream of, and fluidically coupled to, the OCM subsystem can be used to separate the non-C2+ impurities from the C2+ compounds. A methanation subsystem downstream and fluidically coupled to the OCM subsystem can be used to react H2 with CO and/or CO2 in the non-C2+ impurities to generate methane, which can be recycled to the OCM subsystem. The OCM system can be integrated in a non-OCM system, such as a natural gas liquids system or an existing ethylene cracker.

Abstract: Techniques are described for identifying security credentials or other sensitive information based on an entropy-based analysis of information included in documents such as source code files, object code files, or other types of files. A baseline information entropy may be determined for one or more documents, indicating a baseline level of randomness for information in the document(s). One or more of the documents may be analyzed to identify the presence of high entropy portions that have an information entropy above a threshold value. The threshold value may be based on the baseline information entropy, or based on other criteria such as a programming language of the document(s). Because security credentials may have a higher level of information entropy than the surrounding code, any high entropy portions of the document(s) may be identified as potential security risks.

Abstract: A remote browsing and searching process is directed to the management of a remote browse session at a network computing provider. Responsive to a search request, the network computing provider provides search results corresponding to historical content representations associated with content previously requested by the client computing device, search results corresponding to content representations associated with current content, or to data about changes in the content. The network computing provider may determine the search results based on a navigation path associated with a previous request for content, navigation paths of other client computing devices, relationships or differences between various versions of content, or based on any number of other factors. Interactive displays may be provided to client computing devices, allowing a user to refine the search results, zoom and manipulate content representations, and view relationships, similarities, and differences in content representations.

Abstract: Embodiments of multiple stream compression and formatting of data for data storage systems are disclosed. In some embodiments, a data storage system can compress multiple streams of fixed sized host data before storing it on a media and format obtained variable sized compressed data for storing on the media that typically has fixed size storage granularity. One or more modules compress the incoming host data and create multiple output streams of fixed sized storage units that contain compressed data. The storage units are stored on the media. Capacity, reliability, and performance are thereby increased.

In some cases, the absent features may be estimated based on data associated with a reference object that corresponds to the occluded object with the reference object being included in a catalog of reference objects.

An embodiment method of controlling a shared memory includes concurrently scanning-in a plurality of read/write commands for respective transactions. Each of the plurality of read/write commands includes respective addresses and respective priorities. Additionally, each of the respective transactions is divisible into at least one beat and at least one of the respective transactions is divisible into multiple beats. The method also includes dividing the plurality of read/write commands into respective beat-level read/write commands and concurrently arbitrating the respective beat-level read/write commands according to the respective addresses and the respective priorities. Concurrently arbitrating yields respective sequences of beat-level read/write commands corresponding to the respective addresses.
