Abstract: A wall cabinet provided with an upper dividing member and a lower pedestal adjustable of height each on a container part constituted of various cabinets tall enough to reach a ceiling surface from a room floor surface, and installed at the central or other portions in a room to partition the room properly. Further provided is an all locking device capable of locking the cabinets constituting the container part of the wall cabinet all at once.

Abstract: An interlocking cushioning mechanism for supporting a seat portion and a backrest of a chair in an integrally movable fashion. This mechanism has a primary mounting member secured to an upright support for swivel movement about the vertical axis thereof, slots formed in a portion of the primary mounting member which is located near the upper end of the upright support; a subsidiary mounting member having one end extending upwardly toward the rear of the chair and the other end secured to the slots by means of a shaft; a resilient member such as a spring held between the shaft and the forward end of the primary mounting member so as to cause the shaft to move rearwardly within the slot; a seat portion mounting frame for carrying the seat portion; and a backrest frame secured to the rear of the subsidiary mounting member. The resilient member is mounted by means of a simple mounting structure and the resilient force of the resilient member is altered with a minimal effort.

Abstract: A system wherein a contractor of a rental safe-deposit box can privately obtain, handle and restore his own box in the fire-proof safe room. The system includes an automatic article retrieval and storage unit located within the safe room and having contractors' safe-deposit boxes. A plurality of private compartments for contractors' use are disposed separately from the safe room and are connected to the retrieval and storage unit by conveyor devices extending through a safe room wall opening having a fire-proof door. Each private room includes a user's data input terminal device and a handling table. A reception data input terminal is provided at a reception counter. When a contractor visits the reception counter, a reception serial number card is issued to him. The reception serial number and his box code are inputted by the reception input terminal. Thereafter, the contractor inputs his own private code and the issued reception serial number in a private compartment.

Abstract: A cushioning mechanism suitable for use with an office chair is disclosed. A seat frame is connected pivotally to the front of a support frame for swinging motion about the pivotal connection. The swinging motion of the seat frame is converted into the translation thereof by means of a link mechanism, and thus a cushioning member such as a coil spring incorporated in the support frame is compressed by the translation of the seat frame. Accordingly, even when the seat portion is made to swing by a large degree, the front of the seat portion is not greatly shifted in height, thereby enabling the user to sit in the chair comfortably.

Abstract: An automatic code reading device, which is adaptable to use in object storage and retrieval apparatus, can read out the code mark affixed on an axial end surface of an object having a circular section. The device includes a housing defining a chamber in which the object should be loaded. In the housing, a read head unit for reading out the code mark and a holder for holding the drawn object are mounted. The read head unit or the holder is rotated by motor drive to scan the code mark affixed on the drawn object by the read head unit. The rotational angular extent is controlled (360.degree.+.alpha..degree.), where .alpha..degree. is at least an angular extent over which the code mark extends.The reading device is provided with a pick-up device for drawing object into the chamber and pushing out the object therefrom.
