  • Patent number: 4817764
Abstract: A spot-type disc brake with a floating-caliper comprises a brake support member and a brake caliper that is arranged at the wheel axle in a manner slidable parallel to the brake disc axis by a single guide element (5,6) includes brake shoes which are replaceable tangentially relative to the brake disc. The brake support member is constructed in the shape of a retaining element which is arranged on one side of the brake disc parallel to the disc and which may be constructed integrally with the wheel axle. The brake shoes are retained either on the disc entry side in the brake caliper (2) or on the disc exit side at the brake support member (1) or in the brake caliper by retaining elements. On the side opposite to the retaining elements, i.e. on the disc entry side or on the disc exit side, the brake shoes are supported in the brake caliper.

  • Patent number: 4807942
Abstract: The hydraulic brake system with slip control comprises two master cylinder pistons for the operation of the vehicular brakes and in which hydraulic medium tapped from the wheel brake during slip control is returned to the wheel brakes from an auxiliary pressure source via a master cylinder piston gasket acting as check valves. The operating stroke of the master cylinder pistons is limitable by suitable pressurization of a positioning piston. An open connection between the working chambers of the master cylinder and a reservoir is provided, in the brake-released position, solely via the control valve so as to enable the brake circuits connected with the master cylinder to be pressurized right from the beginning of the braking action.

  • Patent number: 4770616
Abstract: A variable vane-type pump in which a cam ring with variable eccentricity encompasses a rotary piston comprising vanes guided in radial slots. At least one lateral surface of the rotary piston abuts on the contact surface of a control disc with pressure pocket and suction pocket. A channel is provided in the control disc whose intake opening is disposed in the direction of rotation of the pump between pressure pocket and suction pocket and in direct vicinity of the end of the pressure pocket. The channel terminates in a housing chamber, the waste oil chamber, the lubricating channels and/or into the under-vane chambers. After displacement of the cam ring, a connection can be established between the channel and the pressure pocket so that the pressure fluid still delivered can discharge via the channel to safeguard lubrication of the pump.

  • Patent number: 4758134
Abstract: A radial piston pump includes an axially slidable rotor which is rotatably connected to a connected shaft through a spring clutch engaging one end face of the rotor. The rotor is located in a housing or in the stator so as to constitute a frontal gap between the rotor and the housing or stator on the pressure side of the machine, through which frontal gap, during operation of the device, pressure fluid of the pressure side is permitted to be supplied to at least one sector area of that end face of the rotor opposite the spring clutch. This causes centering of the rotor by the spring clutch and by the pressure of the pressure side in such a manner that no metallic contacts occur in an axial direction and, thus, no friction losses.

  • Patent number: 4750126
Abstract: To avoid dangerous pressure decreases in antiskid systems, it is necessary to continuously monitor the operability of the electrical components. The present invention ensures maximum reliablity and a simple circuit configuration. Electrical signals are generated during the period of time in which a pressure decrease occurs and/or by the speed of pressure decrease at each wheel of a vehicle axis and are subtracted from one another. If the absolute value of the difference reaches a limiting value, the disturbed part of the system will be prevented from causing a further pressure decrease.

  • Patent number: 4739484
Abstract: A method and device for controlling the variation of braking pressure in the wheel cylinders of brake-slip controlled vehicle brakes. The wheel rotational behavior (v.sub.Rad) and further a vehicle reference velocity (v.sub.Ref) are determined by sensors and logically combined to produce control signals. The braking pressure at the wheels is controllable by the operation of electromagnetically actuated valves (AV, EV) inserted in the pressure fluid circuit. A first pressure-decrease pulse is triggered as soon as the wheel velocity exceeds a deceleration or slip threshold during a braking action. The duration of the said pressure-decrease pulse is determined by the instantaneous deceleration upon attainment of the first switching threshold. Any subsequent pressure decrease pulse is delivered only after a predetermined waiting period and is of a duration determined by reference to the average acceleration.

  • Patent number: 4723412
Abstract: A hydraulic brake system for automotive vehicles with a master brake cylinder and with a hydraulic power booster (1) connected upstream of the master brake cylinder, in which a pressure medium pump (6) drivable by an electric motor (9) is employed for providing auxiliary hydraulic energy. The drive of the pressure medium pump (6) may be switched on by a pressure contact (13) of a pressure accumulator (4), on the one hand, and by a brake pedal contact (11), on the other hand. In the unbraked operation of the automotive vehicle, the pressure medium accumulator is permanently kept on a pressure level sufficient for an initial actuation of the brake. A valve assembly is provided which establishes a hydraulic connection between the outlet of the pressure medium pump (6) and the pressure port of the hydraulic power booster (1).

  • Patent number: 4702330
Abstract: The braking and steering brake system of the present invention comprises two master cylinders, operable singly or jointly via brake pedals, with the master cylinders having a primary and a secondary piston each operating in a bore. The primary pressure chambers formed by the pistons are connected to the rear wheel brakes of a vehicle. The secondary pressure chambers are interconnected via a pressure fluid line in any state of operation. The primary pressure chambers via a valve arrangement and pressure medium line are interconnected in both the release position and in the braking position. The brakes of the non-steering-braked front axle are connected to the pressure fluid line. In a steering brake position, through a compression spring, one of the two valve arrangements closes so that only the steered-braked brake is supplied with pressure medium.

  • Patent number: 4702531
Abstract: For the control of a brake-slip controlled brake system the brake pedal force assisted by auxiliary force is transmitted onto a master cylinder (10, 10', 33) and from said onto the wheel brake cylinders via several pressure fluid paths that are adapted to be closed independently of one another. The wheel rotational behavior and the vehicle velocity will be measured with sensors (S1 through S4), the signals will be logically combined, and therefrom control signals will be generated for electromagnetically actuatable directional control valves (15, 16, 17, 19, 35, 36, 37, 42, 43, 52). During control action, the pedal force (F) that is directed to the master cylinder and assisted by auxiliary force will be compensated temporarily by an opposed force, as a result whereof the pressure rise in the master cylinder will be retarded or pressure will even be decreased.

  • Patent number: 4701855
Abstract: A method and a circuit configuration for suppressing undesired control actions in slip-controlled brake systems, which, for example, may be caused by oscillations of the axle. The wheel rotational behavior is determined and the braking pressure is controlled in dependence upon slip criteria and/or acceleration criteria, and slip control commences when predetermined threshold values (-b.sub.N) are exceeded. A threshold value decisive for initiation of the control is varied as a function of re-acceleration of the controlled wheel.

  • Patent number: 4699436
Abstract: A pressurized fluid brake system for automotive vehicles of the type where the brake pedal pressure (F) is transmitted with assistance of an auxiliary pressure force to the wheel brake cylinders through pressure lines containing pressure modulator valves. The wheels are provided with transducers for measuring instantaneous wheel rotation as well as vehicle velocity. Electronic control circuitry processes and logically combines the measured values to generate control signals for the pressure modulator valves. Preferably, the modulator valves are electromagnetically actuatable valves. By virtue of the braking pressure modulator valves, brake force distribution is controlled in dependence upon the brake slip of the front wheels and, in addition, a brake slip preventing locking of the vehicle wheels will be performed.
