  • Patent number: 4621498
Abstract: In a tandem master cylinder for a vehicle hydraulic brake system having a push-rod piston designed as stepped piston and an intermediate piston designed as stepped piston both pistons being aligned in a stepped bore of the cylinder housing for the purpose of obtaining a particularly short and compact design. The working cylinder communicates with the connecting bore of the one brake circuit provided in the large-diameter step of the intermediate piston, while the small-diameter step of the intermediate piston fits in the working cylinder formed by the small-diameter step of the stepped bore so that the working cylinder is in communication with the other brake circuit via the connecting bore.

  • Patent number: 4621338
Abstract: To implement CMOS EXORs or EXNORs, four transistors are used which have one end of their channels tied to the gate output. The first and fourth transistors are one conductivity type, and the second and third transistors are of the other conductivity type. One of the inputs is split up into two sub-inputs to which one of the digital signals has to be applied in uninverted form and in inverted form, respectively. The other end of the channel of the fourth transistor is connected to the first sub-input in the case of the EXOR and to the second sub-input in the case of the EXNOR. The reverse is true for the channel of the third transistor, while the channels of the first and second transistors are connected to the second input. The latter is also connected to the gates of the third and fourth transistors. The gate of the first transistor is connected to the channel of the fourth transistor, while the gate of the second transistor is connected to the channel of the third transistor.

  • Patent number: 4621374
Abstract: Digitized audio-frequency signals are processed in a signal processor (SP) together with digital control signals and pass through a wireless infrared transmission link (I) whose receiver (E) and a following power amplifier (V) are incorporated in a loudspeaker box (B). The audio-frequency signals are coded in a protected code and are fed first to a code-conversion/error-correction processor (CP), then to the signal processor (SP), and then to an RF modulator (M) which drives the transmitter (S) of the transmission link (I).In a modification, the code-conversion/error-correction processor (CP) and the signal processor (SP) are disposed within the loudspeaker box (B'), so that errors arising on the transmission link (I) can be compensated for.

  • Patent number: 4618788
Abstract: A delay circuit provides adjustable delay in constant increments. In order to achieve adjustable but constant delay times of a chain of inverter pairs, each pair is completed by a capacitor, a third inverter, and a transfer transistor the gate of which is fed by a voltage controlling the pair delay time. This voltage is generated by a control circuit measuring the actual delay time of the chain with respect to the period of a constant clock signal.

  • Patent number: 4618881
Abstract: In this IC set, the dark currents and the white levels of the three electron guns, the leakage currents of the cathodes, and a light-detector current are measured during four successive vertical blanking intervals. The cathode leakage currents and the dark currents are measured in the first half of the vertical blanking interval, and the light-detector current and the white-level currents are measured at the end of this interval. From these measured data and alignment data stored in a reprogrammable memory (ps), a microprocessor (mp) contained together with the memory (ps) in an integrated circuit (ic2) derives operating data for the picture tube (b) as well as further data.

  • Patent number: 4616345
Abstract: The NOR decoders of a static random access memory are divided into two or more sets only one of which is powered up at any one time. This significantly reduces the power dissipation of the memory and allows the device to be operational under high access speed conditions. In a preferred arrangement each decoding node is clamped to a voltage level significantly lower than the circuit supply voltage. This provides an increase in operating speed by reducing the deselection time.

  • Patent number: 4599924
Abstract: A process and device for producing a bearing eye or a transverse perforation in the clevis of the actuating rod of a brake power booster. The assembled brake power booster is inserted in a locking frame of the device, the clevis being retained at a cutting tool provided in a locking frame at a desired design distance of the clevis from the fixation flange of the booster casing. Upon insertion of the booster in the locking frame, the legs of the clevis are punched by a cutting punch so that in a single process step, a transverse punch hole or perforation to receive the pivot pin of the brake pedal is made maintaining a close tolerance to the desired design distance, i.e. independently of the specific position of mounting of the actuating rod and independent of the distance between the end of the clevis and the fixation flange of the booster casing.

  • Patent number: 4598548
Abstract: A vacuum-operated brake booster which includes a rolling diaphragm partly abutting against the diaphragm plate. The diaphragm has on its lateral surface close to the booster piston a sealing surface which cooperates both with a valve piston and the booster piston to govern the air flow from the atmosphere to the working chamber in front of the rolling diaphragm. The valve piston is moved by the tappet and with the slidable booster piston which controls the passage leading from the chamber behind the rolling diaphragm to the working chamber. The rolling diaphragm contains on its side remote from the booster piston an abutment surface which bears against a stop provided at the booster housing inner wall in the inactive position of the brake. Upon displacement of the valve piston in the actuating direction, the present booster arrangement generates instantaneously and without lost travel an output force which acts upon the master cylinder piston via the push rod.

  • Patent number: 4598625
Abstract: A vacuum-operated brake power booster, including a control valve comprising a control valve piston with valve seat actuated by the piston rod, a poppet valve with two valve seat faces and a valve seat at the longitudinally slidable control valve body. The movements of the poppet valve relative to the two valve seats are controlled by a transverse member embracing the neck of the poppet valve. The radially external end of the transverse member touches the stationary sealing ring in the release position of the brake. For the purpose of interaction of the poppet valve with the transverse member, the neck of the poppet valve is furnished with an annular groove at its radially external peripheral surface, the width of the annular groove being sized larger than the thickness of the transverse member which engages in that groove.

For the interaction of the poppet valve with the transverse member, the liner of the poppet valve is furnished with at least one opening whose width is larger than the thickness of the transverse member which engages in that groove. Due to the transverse member touching the stationary sealing ring, the lost motion of the valve is reducible to zero.
