Patents Assigned to ITT Industries, Incorporated
  • Patent number: 4159853
Abstract: There is disclosed a dual-circuit brake-force distributor wherein the control force of one circuit is transmitted to the other circuit through a floating intermediate piston. In order to achieve a highly sensitive control, the intermediate piston is provided with a large cross-sectional area. In the event of failure of the one circuit, the intermediate piston will become blocked and the control force will be transmitted through an auxiliary piston having a smaller cross-sectional area. By this arrangement upon failure of the one circuit a sufficient amount of braking pressure can still build up in the other intact braking circuit.

  • Patent number: 4111611
Abstract: An automatic locking system is provided for securing a submersible pump to vertical guide wires. The pump is automatically locked to the wires upon lowering of the pump and released upon raising the pump. Stationary cams in the pumping station actuate the locking system. The system assures locking when the pump is lowered and eliminates the need for manual unlocking by the serviceman when raised.

  • Patent number: 4109967
Abstract: There is provided a brake-force distributor, wherein the normally controlled rear-axle brake circuit is no longer influenced by the distributor if the front-axle brake circuit has failed. This is achieved by arranging the valve seat at a sleeve held in the operating position by the front-axle brake pressure. In the event of failure of the front-axle brake circuit, the rear-axle braking pressure will displace the sleeve into a position in which the distributor is not allowed to close.

  • Patent number: 4101888
Abstract: The radar has two antennas which radiate RF signals of different frequencies and whose radiation patterns overlap. The frequencies of the radiated signals are generated by amplitude-modulating a single RF signal with two low frequency signals. The signals received by one of the two antennas are evaluated by determining, in an evaluating device, the difference between the amplitudes of the RF signals of different frequency which are reflected from an object. A DC voltage signal proportional to the above difference is generated and the DC voltage signal is fed to a threshold circuit whose threshold is determined by a predetermined azimuth range. Therefore, it can be determined if the reflecting object is in the same road lane as a car equipped with the radar.

  • Patent number: 4099226
Abstract: A constant dc voltage source is connected to the non-inverting input of a differential amplifier with a negative load resistance. The output of the differential amplifier is coupled directly to the inverting input and to a filter circuit for providing a filtered dc signal, the amplitude of which is controlled by a pulse train of variable pulse duty factor connected to the input of an electronic switch which, in response to the pulses, switches the input of the filter circuit between the constant dc voltage and a reference potential.

  • Patent number: 4095194
Abstract: A monolithic integrated circuit for an RC oscillator includes a differential amplifier acting as a switching stage for comparing a threshold voltage corresponding to the maximum oscillator voltage with the capacitor voltage of the RC circuit. An output of the differential amplifier is connected to the S input of an R-S flip-flop which is set when the capacitor voltage reaches the threshold voltage. A switching transistor has its collector and emitter connected across the capacitor and a base connected to the output of the R-S flip-flop for discharging the capacitor when the flip-flop is set.

  • Patent number: 4084604
Abstract: A pressure responsive valve for distributing the fluid under pressure delivered by a fluid pressure source to two user components, one of which is connected to an accumulator. The device includes a control valve which is disposed in a line connecting the fluid pressure source with a first user component and governs the cross-section of the passage in that line. The control valve has a control chamber and cross-section reducing member when the control chamber is in communication with the fluid pressure source. When the control chamber communicates with the return line the cross-sectional area of the passage increases. In addition a pilot and/or stop valve is included which changes its position depending upon the pressure existing in the line connecting the fluid pressure source with the second user component.

  • Patent number: 4050748
Abstract: A braking system provides for a master cylinder of the tandem or split type connected through a control pressure device to the wheel cylinders of brakes for at least one of the wheels which includes a modulating valve controlled by the master cylinder pressure which provides an auxiliary pressure obtained from a source of brake fluid under pressure. The modulating valve feeds through a control valve which is under the control of an electronic anti-skid device. Thus, the modulating valve controlled by the master cylinder's pressure through the control valve effects the operation of the pressure control valve and applies the brakes of the vehicle.
