  • Patent number: 5454870
Abstract: A coating device having an applicator roll which forms an application slot with the backup roll which conducts the web of material. Adjoining the applicator slot is a pressure space which is formed at the outlet side of the application slot and between the applicator roll and the backup roll. A flexible guide wall having a shape which approximates or is adapted to the surface of the backup roll and/or can be adapted thereto by the Coanda effect itself, which wall forms a narrow slot along the web of material downstream from the pressure space. The wall is at such a slight distance away from the web that the formation of drips or streaks in the applied coating by the centrifugal force is excluded. The dosaging place for the final dosaging is formed by a dosaging doctor.

  • Patent number: 5454868
Abstract: A coating device includes a plurality of parallel coating blade lamellae made from highly wear-resistant material. The lamellae are disposed against one another in a housing and held thereby, forming a lamella packet wherein each lamella of the packet is disposed at the same inclination with respect to a plane perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the packet. The inclination of the lamellae is adjustably controlled by at least one adjusting device acting on the packet. Thus, a change in lamellae inclination also changes a step-wise configuration of a surface contour formed by neighboring lamellae of the packet.

Abstract: An arrangement for dosing with a blade, in coating machines or similar, onto a running web of paper or cardboard carried by a roll in or with the arrangement. The blade is forced by means of a hold-down or several hold-down sections on the roll respectively the web. A transmitter transmits light, notably laser light. The blade features in the area between the contact line of the hold-down on it, and its contact line on the roll respectively the web, on its side away from the roll, at least one light-reflecting layer for reflection of the light ray directed by the transmitter at the layer. • Patent number: 5404811
Abstract: Two press units have axes which lie in a pressing plane which is inclined to the vertical direction and they form a press nip with each other. The two press units are supported by bearing brackets which are coupled in pairs to each other by detachable tension bars which transmit the pressing force. The bearing brackets of the one press unit are supported rigidly (i.e. directly on a machine frame, foundation, or the like) and bear at least a part of the weight of the other press unit. A support device on the machine frame, foundation, or the like at least temporarily takes up a component of the weight of the other press unit which is directed transverse to the pressing plane.

  • Patent number: 5394787
Abstract: A hydrostatic displacement machine has in a revolving cylinder block several displacement elements movable in a guideway and having a radial position during the rotation of the cylinder block determined by a nonrotating displacement ring. The displacement elements, viewed axially, are retained on the displacement ring by two retaining rings. The retaining rings feature relative to the displacement ring a radial seal. The axial seal of the retaining rings is effected in standstill, relative to the housing or housing lid, by way of spring elements, and during the pumping operation, by a contact force which is indirectly dependent on the operating pressure.
