Patent number: 5358605Abstract: The invention concerns the recycling of waste paper in a deinking process with flotation with at least one other cleaning stage downstream. According to the invention, selective flotation is performed in multiple stages. After no more than a third flotation stage, the flotation foam collected up to that point is removed and purified by means of flash flotation, which produces sludge, clear water and separated foam that contains the contaminants from the waste paper feed. Subsequently, the sludge is removed from the paper recycling process. Large impurities are removed from the sludge (foam) (except for the foam from up to the three last stages) in up to two washing units (including thickeners) or screen units. The fibers are then separated from the relatively fine contaminants, and these contaminants are primarily removed as sludge from the resulting low-fiber fractions by flash flotation.Type: GrantFiled: March 3, 1993Date of Patent: October 25, 1994Assignee: J. Patent number: 5354188Abstract: The invention relates to a sickleless internal gear pump with an internal ring gear and a pinion meshing with the ring gear. The ring gear and pinion are rotatably mounted in a common housing part having an axial expanse corresponding to the width of the teeth of the ring gear and the pinion. The housing features a suction port and a pressure port. The ring gear features radial ports for the fluid medium to be pumped. Disposed in the pressure side region of the housing, opposite the rotating gearing parts of the ring gear and the pinion, is an axially movable axial disk exerting a force on the rotating gearing parts dependent on an axial pressure derived from the working pressure. The axially movable disk provides axial sealing by compensating for the gap between it and the fixed housing.Type: GrantFiled: March 17, 1993Date of Patent: October 11, 1994Assignee: J. M. Patent number: 5341579Abstract: In a paper making machine a porous support belt travels together with the web over a drying cylinder and leaves the cylinder at a point of removal. A suction box provided in the region of the web removal has a suction zone which is defined by means of two yieldable sealing strips which extend transversely to the direction of travel of the web, and each is supported in a sealing strip holder. The distance between each sealing strip holder and the outer surface of the drying cylinder amounts to at least 30 mm, and each of the yieldable sealing strips has, in its normal condition of operation, such an inherent stiffness that the sealing strip remains substantially free of deformation in the event of a difference in pressure of 0.01 to 0.1 bar between the suction zone and its surroundings.Type: GrantFiled: December 11, 1992Date of Patent: August 30, 1994Assignee: J. Patent number: 5340611Abstract: In a process for the coating of a running web of paper or cardboard, provisions are that in a press gap formed between two rolls a coating substance applied in a very small quantity on the surface of the one roll is first pressed on the web leaving a very thin coat on the web which, however, covers all spots including the "mounds" of microroughness. Next, the second coat can be applied and dosed on the still moist first coat with the usual means. In the process, the first coat is preferably dosed on the shell of the first roll, by means of the peripheral grooves of a rotary doctor. The same may be performed also as regards the second coating on the web.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 1990Date of Patent: August 23, 1994Assignee: J. M. Patent number: 5328511Abstract: A device for applying coating composition to a fiber web has at least one application roll for receiving a film of coating color at a feed location and for then delivering it to the fiber web at a delivery location. A nozzle applicator feeds coating color to a nozzle at the feed position of application roll. The nozzle has a downstream lip with a metering doctor on it for metering the thickness of the coating color applied to the roll. The nozzle has an upstream lip in the form of an overflow ledge spaced from the surface of the application roll. Coating liquid overflows the overflow ledge and is collected in a first overflow trough. To clean the outer surface of the application roll before coating color is thereto applied, a scraper blade scrapes the surface of the roll. Upstream in the rotation path from the scraper blade is a sprayer for spraying liquid on the application roll so that the scraper scrapes the surface of the application roll with liquid on it.Type: GrantFiled: September 21, 1992Date of Patent: July 12, 1994Assignee: J. Patent number: 5321899Abstract: The dry end of a paper machine comprises a first dryer group with top drying cylinders (11 to 14), with a first drying wire (10) and with bottom deflection suction rolls (21 to 23). Adjacent this, there is a second dryer group with bottom drying cylinders (15 to 18), with a second drying screen (20) and with top deflection suction rolls (25 to 27). In this way, both sides of the web (9) to be dried come, in succession, into direct contact with the drying cylinders. At the place where the web (9) changes from the first drying wire to the second drying wire, there is a transfer suction roll (24) which lies within the loop (20) of the second support belt. The web (9) travels there from the last cylinder (14) of the first dryer group over an at least approximately straight travel path to the transfer suction roll (24) and thus onto the second support belt (20).Type: GrantFiled: April 13, 1992Date of Patent: June 21, 1994Assignee: J.
