Abstract: A sealed lead-acid battery is provided containing a sulfuric acid electrolyte of a sufficient amount to perform charging and discharging of the battery which is impregnated and retained in fine particles of silica located and placed around an assembled element. In this way, an inexpensive sealed-lead acid battery which exhibits high discharging performance.
Abstract: A reduction gear mechanism, incorporating a speed changing mechanism, for use with a motor-driven drill. The mechanism includes at least one planetary speed reducer having a sun gear to which rotation of an electric motor is transmitted, a plurality of planet gears arranged around the sun gear and engaged with the sun gear, an internal gear internally engaged with the planet gears, and a planet gear holding plate which pivotally supports the planet gears on one side of it and has an output shaft on the other side of it. The internal gear of at least one planetary speed reducer includes a cylindrical internal gear. The reduction gear includes mechanisms for locking the cylindrical internal gear to prevent rotation of the cylindrical internal gear and for engaging the cylindrical internal gear with the planet gear holding plate so that the cylindrical internal gear and the planet gear holding plate rotate as a single unit.
Abstract: A photo-curable composition with high covering power provides the coating film with a glossy smooth surface when such composition is exposed firstly to light radiation having wavelengths of from about 350 nm to about 460 nm, and then to light radiation having wavelengths of from about 230 nm to about 400 nm with a specific ratio of the intensity of the former light radiation to the intensity of the latter light radiation.

Abstract: A catalytic device for a battery containing an aqueous electrolyte into which oxygen and hydrogen gases generated as a result of a electrolysis of the aqueous electrolyte pass and are catalytically recombined into water, which returns to the electrolyte: including a catalyst body; a gas-permeable catalyst vessel having the catalyst body arranged therein; a condenser vessel housing the catalyst vessel, the condenser vessel having an opening only at the lower portion thereof; an outer vessel of the catalytic device housing the condenser vessel; and a conduit or passageway for passing a gas from the condenser vessel through a gap between the condenser vessel and the outer vessel.
Abstract: A lead acid battery suitable for high power application, having elements comprising a plurality of positive and negative plates which are composed of grids formed with band-shaped portions at one end facing to the side wall of container, and layered one upon another with separators put therebetween in such a way that the respective band-shaped portions for the positive plates and negative plates respectively face to the opposing side walls of the container, the positive plates and the negative plates being respectively connected at least at a part of the length of said band-shaped portions to thereby form straps.
