  • Patent number: 6507277
Abstract: A danger signalling system, including a multiplicity of detectors (M1 to Mn) and other line members, in case of need, which respond to at least one danger criterion and are connected to a two-wire line (line A), a control centre connected to the line (line A), which has a voltage supply and a central processor in which the addresses of the detectors are stored for individually addressing and polling the detectors as well as a program for monitoring the status of the detectors. A testing circuitry is disposed in the control centre for checking the working order of the network formed from the line and the detectors or line members by means of a testing unit wherein the testing circuitry includes a testing processor which, in turn, has an evaluation software, and a switch assembly controlled by the testing processor is provided for selectively connecting the at least one testing unit to the line (line A).

  • Patent number: 6112820
Abstract: A spray nozzle for fire extinguishing devices with a nozzle body and a valve for a valve body provided at the nozzle opening, wherein the valve body is held in a closed position by a support member which is secured by a thermal release element. The support member is connected to the nozzle body through a hook-type connection and has a unilaterally protruding lever arm. A bearing lever is mounted on the nozzle body so as to be located opposite the protruding lever arm in such a way that the thermal release element is located between the protruding lever arm and the bearing lever laterally next to the nozzle body.

  • Patent number: 6076609
Abstract: A pull rope shortening device for fire extinguishing units, particularly for kitchen exhaust hoods, includes a shortening element which deflects the pull rope which is under tension in order to shorten the length of the pull rope, wherein the shortening element is held in the position in which it shortens the length of the pull rope by a thermally released separating device. The shortening element is composed of a spring steel wire which is wound or bent in such a way that at each end thereof is formed an end eyelet for receiving the pull rope and at least one guide eyelet acting as a spring and guiding the pull rope is provided between the two ends.

  • Patent number: 5927890
Abstract: A thermally released separation or disconnecting device, particularly for fire protection systems, includes two oppositely arranged joining members which are connected to each other and are subjected to a tensile force. A destructible thermal release element is held between the joining members. The joining members are constructed as stirrups with two legs each, wherein the stirrups equally absorb the tensile force. The destructible thermal release element is held between oppositely arranged legs of the stirrups and extends essentially perpendicularly of the direction of the tensile force in the locked position of the separation device. Each leg of one stirrup holding the thermal release element is connected in the locked position of the separation device to the other leg of the other stirrup in a positively engaging manner against the direction of the tensile force.
