Abstract: The present invention relates to a skin care composition comprising an extract of Malva neglecta and a cosmetically acceptable topical carrier. Non-polar and/or lipophilic extracts have been found to be particularly effective in improving skin barrier function, improving the appearance of at least one sign of aging in skin, and/or lightening skin. The composition may further comprise an agent, such as an active cosmetic agent, for further treating the skin condition.
