Abstract: A ratcheting wrench includes a first jaw with a first jaw insert configured to move relative to the first jaw and a first spring configured to bias the first jaw insert in a first direction. The wrench also includes a second jaw with a second jaw insert configured to move relative to the second jaw and a second spring configured to bias the second jaw insert in a second direction opposite the first direction. When the first jaw insert moves relative to the first jaw and the second jaw insert moves relative to the second jaw, a space between the first jaw and the second jaw increases. This allows the jaws of the wrench to slip over corners of a fastener to achieve a ratcheting effect.
Abstract: A hand tool includes a head and a handle. The head is pivotally mounted to the handle, permitting the position of the head to be changed relative to the handle. In addition, the tool includes a primary locking mechanism and a secondary locking mechanism. The primarily locking mechanism primarily fixes the head relative to the handle in a particular position. The secondary locking mechanism can be used to further lock the head and handle. The locking mechanisms are actuated by movement of a sleeve which is located on the handle.
Abstract: An embodiment of a vise may include a clamping structure having a first clamping jaw, a second clamping jaw positioned relative to the first clamping jaw, and a quick adjust jaw guide to maintain the first clamping jaw relative to the second clamping jaw. The quick adjust jaw guide may include a driving element to apply a force to move the first clamping jaw relative to the second clamping jaw, wherein the driving element comprises a release structure to release the applied force to facilitate rapid adjustment of the first clamping jaw relative to the second clamping jaw.
Abstract: Various implementations described herein are directed to an apparatus having an elongated support with a recess. The apparatus includes multiple legs rotatably coupled to the elongated support so as to move between open and closed positions. The multiple legs collapse and retract from the open position to the closed position so as to nest within the recess of the elongated support. The multiple legs expand and deploy from the closed position to the open position so as to extend from the recess of the elongated support. The apparatus includes multiple arms rotatably coupled to the multiple legs so as to move between deployed and retracted positions. The multiple arms telescopically compress in a direction so as to slidably retract from the deployed position to the retracted position. The multiple arms telescopically expand in another opposite direction so as to slidably extend from the retracted position to the deployed position.
Abstract: A utility rack includes a pair of end supports for supporting one or more shelves there between. Each end support includes a first vertical support having one or more cross members mounted thereto and a second vertical support. The cross members may be mounted to one or more cross member mounts of the first vertical support and are configured to be movable relative to the first vertical support between a stored position in which they are disconnected from the second vertical support and are collapsed inwardly towards the first vertical support for storage or transport and an extended position in which free ends of the cross members may be attached to the second vertical support using fasteners.
Abstract: A tool and a method of manufacture of the tool are provided. The tool is prepared by the steps of providing a first tool half having a first jaw, providing a second tool half having a second jaw, inserting a temporary sleeve through an opening in the first tool half, the temporary sleeve having an opening configured to receive an end of a biased member that extends axially, aligning the end of the biased member with the opening in the first tool half, disposing the biased member within a cavity formed by the first tool half and the second tool half, and removing the temporary sleeve.
Abstract: A noise or vibration detection system includes a clamping device with an audio transducer and a wireless transmitter. The transmitter transmits the audio signal, or a modified version of the audio signal, from the transducer. A mobile device located remote from the transmitter receives the transmitted audio signal for processing. The mobile device includes a receiver configured to receive the audio signal, a display configured as a user interface and to display information to a user, a memory configured to store non-transient machine executable code, and a processor configured to execute the machine executable code stored on the memory. The machine executable code is configured to process the received signal to form an audio signal which is presented to a speaker of the mobile device or a headphone port of the mobile device and also display the audio signal in graphical form on the display.
