  • Publication number: 20070186693
Abstract: The number n of N-poles and S-poles circumferentially aligned on the cylindrical magnet that integrally rotates with the first shaft is determined so as to be a greatest integer that satisfies the following formula that includes a maximum value Tmax (Nm) of the torque to be detected and a torsion spring constant k (Nm/deg) of the torsion bar connecting the first shaft and the second shaft: 2·n·Tmax /k<360. The cylindrical magnet includes teeth-shaped portions in which portions corresponding to the N-poles and the S-poles are of a protruding shape, so that adhesion of magnetic dust concentrates at the protruding portions. Thus, a torque detecting apparatus is provided that reduces the effect of the adhesion of the magnetic dust, so as to attain higher detection sensitivity and thereby improve the detection accuracy, without incurring an increase in cost.

  • Publication number: 20070191157
Abstract: An endless loop-like chain 1p consists of a plurality of link plates, laminated, that are linked to be freely bendable by pin members. The endless loop-like chain 1p is looped over each of the upper rollers and a lower roller to make up a polygon. If the chain is rotated endlessly while a tension load is imposed on the chain by each of the rollers, a pretensioned chain is obtained.

  • Patent number: 7257474
Abstract: In a steering system 30, a transmission ratio R1 which is determined in dependence on the vehicle speed by reference to a transmission ratio decision map is multiplied with a first transmission ratio alteration gain g10 which is determined in dependence on the distribution of a traveling drive torque from an engine 11 to front wheels 14 and rear wheels 15, thereby to alter the ratio R1 of steering torque distribution from a steering handle 31 to the front wheels 14, whereby the variation of the steering feeling due to an increase or decrease in the distribution of the traveling drive torque to the front wheels 14 can be suppressed. Further, the transmission ratio R1 is multiplied with a second transmission ratio alteration gain g11 which is determined in dependence on the gradient of the road surface by reference to a second transmission ratio alteration map, thereby to alter the transmission ratio R1, whereby the variation of the steering feeling due to the variation of the gradient can also be suppressed.

  • Publication number: 20070183704
Abstract: A turbocharger bearing assembly is disposed in a housing for rotatably supporting an intermediate portion of a rotary shaft of a turbocharger. A pair of outer rings formed with outer raceways are mounted to opposite ends of a substantially cylindrical inner ring formed with inner raceways, thereby constituting a bearing unit including two angular bearings. Thus, the number of assembly steps is reduced to facilitate an assembly work. A pair of sleeves are inserted in a gap defined between the outer rings. The sleeve is formed with an engaging portion on an outer periphery thereof for restricting its rotation relative to the housing and the outer ring. This makes it easy to position the bearing in the housing.

  • Patent number: 7253573
Abstract: A power source for a hybrid vehicle is provided which can protect its electric motor driving circuit from being damaged by a back electromotive force generated in a motor. The back electromotive force generated in an electric motor is detected by a high voltage detector circuit and converted by a step-down circuit into a low voltage which is then stored in a low-voltage second battery. Accordingly, as the back electromotive force does not become excessively high, it will be prevented from damaging a switching circuit. Also, the back electromotive force generated in the motor is charged in the low-voltage battery and can thus be supplied to a control circuit or any other component, contributing to the reduction of the fuel consumption of the hybrid vehicle. The back electromotive force can alternatively be diverted for charging a medium-voltage third battery.

  • Publication number: 20070176759
Abstract: A noise detection signal detected at an evaluation point is filtered by a low pass filter, so that an evaluation waveform signal is extracted. A real signal mother wavelet of complex type is derived from the extracted evaluation waveform signal. Using this mother wavelet, an abnormal waveform signal stored in advance is processed by wavelet transformation. Then, a correlation value is calculated between the abnormal waveform signal and the mother wavelet. The correlation value is compared with a predetermined criterion, so that the presence or absence of abnormality in a sound source or vibration source corresponding to each abnormal waveform signal is determined.

  • Patent number: 7249889
Abstract: A sliding guide apparatus guides a movable member for a base. A pair of guide surfaces are formed on the base. A pair of sliding surfaces are formed on the movable member as so to be opposed to the pair of guide surfaces, respectively. Lubricating oil is supplied between the guide surface and the sliding surface. The sliding surface is configured so that one half portion of the sliding surface which is close to the center of gravity of the movable member is asymmetric with the other half portion of the sliding surface which is far from the center of gravity of the movable member. Since a load of the movable member that acts disproportionately on the sliding surface is balanced with dynamic pressure of the lubricating oil that occurs between the guide surface and the sliding surface, it is prevented that the movable member is slanted.
