  • Patent number: 6729252
Abstract: A thread winder unit, which is capable of winding thread of spools set on spool bars, is removably attached to a machine body. The sewing machine includes a feed motor for feeding the thread during sewing, an upper thread state detecting sensor disposed between the feed motor and the thread winder unit for detecting tensed thread, and a CPU for controlling thread winding operations based on a signal from the upper thread state detecting sensor. The sewing machine intermittently drives the feed motor in a reverse direction to that in the sewing to feed the thread toward the thread winder unit, every time the upper thread state detecting sensor detects the tensed thread, and the thread winder unit winds the fed thread around the spool. The CPU, recognizing the thread wound by a given amount, stops winding.

  • Patent number: 6690819
Abstract: A method and apparatus for accurately recognizing most of components available in the market with moderate illuminating condition in high speed image processing are disclosed. After imaging a component having a predetermined electrode pattern, a core electrode 32 is extracted with the image being swept from a corner 33a (S1) through a small window. A H0V0 coordinate system is implemented with the core electrode set as its origin to observe its neighbor electrodes (S2). At this state, electrodes are sequentially extracted through a small window placed in an area predicted from previously extracted electrodes. Thereafter, an extracted electrode pattern is produced, and coordinates of its electrodes are obtained. Then, the extracted electrode pattern is collated with the predetermined electrode pattern by overlaying with each other for positioning (S3).

  • Patent number: 6681707
Abstract: A sewing machine 100 comprises a nonvolatile memory 43, and it is possible to select two kinds of set modes including a normal mode and an initial set value changing mode when starting up the sewing machine 100. The initial set value changing mode is selected in regulation or maintenance after the assembly of the sewing machine 100. In the initial set value changing mode, a set value for a sewing work stored in a ROM 42 is exactly maintained or is properly changed, and is thus stored in the nonvolatile memory 43. Consequently, the set value for the sewing work is optimized depending on the sewing machine 100 which is mass-produced. The normal mode is selected in a normal sewing work. In the normal mode, the set value stored in the nonvolatile memory 43 is properly changed depending on each sewing work and is thus stored in a RAM 44.
