Abstract: Automatic device for needle selection in a circular knitting machine, having at least one needle bed (1) with needles (3) each of which is related to a first jack (8) movable from a position of cancellation of the corresponding needle (3) to a loop position or a clearing position, the said first jack (8) having related to it a second jack (15) with selectable butts (16) which permit the selection of the position of the needle (3), the selectable butts (16) being actuatable by selectors (17) of each knitting position which by automatic means can adopt a first, active position or a second, inactive position.

Abstract: Device for the attachment of feeders in circular machines for knitted fabrics, according to which, in the upper and outer pail of the feeder body, there is arranged, between the body and the fixed part of the machine, a joint with shaft tangent to a circle that is perpendicular to the central shaft of the machine. Thus, by means of a turn, it is possible to move the feeder between a working position situated toward the interior of the machine and a position toward the exterior of the machine in which the feeder is raised outside the working area.

Abstract: Needle selection system for a circular machine for knitted fabrics, constituted by an assembly which comprises a series of movable elements correspondingly related to respective stationary elements, the movable assembly including a cylinder (2) with numerous longitudinal grooves (3) distributed on the exterior contour, with the incorporation, in each groove (3), of a needle (1) and three successive positionable elements (6), (11) and (17), which determine the movement of the needle (1); while the stationary part includes respective actuating cams (5), (10), (12) and (25), which determine the actuation of the abovementioned positionable elements of the movable portion, as a function of the revolution of the cylinder (2).

Abstract: Circular knitting machine for knitted fabrics, comprising an assembly of needles which are mounted in rotary needle beds provided with cam sections which act on the needles to conduct them selectively according to alternative trajectories, while the yarns to be knitted are delivered in each section in a selective manner by a programmable feed mechanism, which incorporates a complementary assembly which comprises a lever (40) which can be actuated in connection with a tiltable cam (42), which incorporates another associated lever (44) able to be positioned in order to effect the actuation of a rod (50) which actuates cutting and clamping of the yarn being fed, independently of the introduction of a new yarn substituting for the previous one.

Abstract: The striper of the system is provided with yarnguide rods which are pivotable to a position conducive to delivery of yarn to the needle. The rod to be pivoted is selected by a selector which imposes a small movement on a slide member and this small movement causes the slide member to be moved by a first radial cam such that its movement causes pivoting of the rod. Independently of said pivoting, a closing lever and an opening lever respectively adapted to retain and cut the yarn or release it are always moved. The movement of said levers, is only effective when at least one yarnguide rod has pivoted. There is a striper for each cam section and all of them are controlled by a single selection box containing the selectors.

Abstract: A mechanism allows the stitch density to be varied simultaneously with the knitting process by using a single stationary main control with which rotating controls, one for each cam set, successively align. The main control is provided with a motor regulated by a controller, a first sliding member and a proximity detector. Each rotating control includes a second vertical sliding member attached to the stitch cam. According to a program, for each cam set, the motor drives the sliding member and the movement of the latter is applied to the second sliding member through a transmission.

Abstract: The selection system is based on a reciprocal action of a selector jack for each needle and operative cams, such that each selector jack may not be selected or may be selected one or two times during its engagement with one same operative cam, owing to the existence of two electronic controls for each cam. Each control includes a box having a plurality of selectors for the jacks, and the selectors may be moved from a retracted inoperative position to an extended activated position for a very short period of time due to a special arrangement of magnets.

Abstract: A circular knitting machine for introducing one or more independent wrap yarns to selected needles to form walewise effects in a fabric of jersey construction. The introduction is effected by yarn wrapper assemblies, each comprising a slidable, first member adapted for a radial movement relative to the circular knitting machine and a rotatable, second member pivotably mounted to the first member and having a yarn guide element. The first and second members of the yarn wrapper assembly are imparted with independent but simultaneous, synchronized movement whereby an individual yarn is introduced by the yarn guide element into the hooks of selectively raised needles in a non-circular arcuate path.

Abstract: A mechanism selects and controls the raising and lowering of needles in circular and flat bed knitting machines having a plurality of adjacent needles. A rocking pusher is provided for each needle to move each needle back and forth between an outwardly projecting active position and an inward inactive position. Each rocking pusher is engaged with a corresponding cam when the needle is in the engaged position, and is disengaged from the cam in the inactive position. A deflector corresponds to each rocking pusher, and is engageable with a cam profile, which determines the movement of the deflector for its engagement with the rocking pusher. This moves the rocking pusher from the active position to the inactive position. A controllable retaining member engages the deflector to cause the engagement of the deflector with the cam profile. The retaining member is controlled by a control program member, which is controlled by a control program.

Abstract: A plurality of yarn guides causes a yarn being drawn from a yarn package or the like to be directed towards a needle of a textile machine along a path which forms at least two tangential arcs with the cylindrical surface of a rotatable feed drum. When the yarn is subjected to tension, as when it is required by the needle, it presses against the drum and the yarn is pulled along by the rotation of the drum. Enough friction is provided on the surface of the drum so that it will pull the yarn. When the tension is released, there is no yarn feed.

Abstract: A needle selector arrangement in a circular knitting machine, which in each of the working sections or sets allows the needles to be selected simultaneously to knit, tuck or welt. It is provided with cam sets in association with intermediate jacks having a long upper butt and a short lower butt and said intermediate jacks are adapted to assume three different positions, one in which both butts emerge, corresponding to the jersey knitting stage, another in which only part of the long butt emerges corresponding to the tucking stage and a third position in which no butt emerges, corresponding to the welting stage.

Abstract: A feed device for a circular knitting machine capable of positively feeding the needles with an adequate amount of yarn without the needles having to require the necessary yarn by pulling it and increasing its tension is disclosed. It comprises two sets of toothed rollers adapted to mesh without the respective teeth thereof making contact and a yarnguide for each pair of rollers capable of adopting an operative position in which the yarn guided by the eyelets of the yarnguide runs between the teeth or an inoperative position in which the yarn is spaced from the rollers. In the operative position it is contemplated that the rollers may be moved farther apart, whereby the yarn feed speed is reduced.

Abstract: A yarn feeder for a circular knitting machine having stripers receiving the yarns from the machine creel, each yarn following a set route through a plurality of fixed eyelets and moving eyelets located on a pivotable arm. The pivoting of the arm causes the length of yarn comprised between the eyelets to move between two rollers the rotation of which pulls the yarn along from the creel and delivers it to the needle which previously, while the arm was being caused to pivot, received the loop of yarn contained between two moving eyelets and a fixed eyelet.

Abstract: A process for knitting a single-faced pile fabric is disclosed, based on the raising and lowering of conventional needles and the movement of throated sinkers, each sinker having the throat extended and provided with a sloping shoulder in the lower edge thereof, a re-entrant bevel on the upper leading edge, a downwardly extending surface and a notch on the upper edge.

Abstract: A selection mechanism for knitting machines in which each raising jack for lifting the needles is associated with a pusher jack which is placed opposite the poles of an electromagnetic array during each selection cycle. This array either holds the pusher jack, whereby it is held out of the scope of action of cams which apply it against the corresponding raising jack or does not hold it, so that said pusher jack is selected by one of the above cams. The holding or non-holding of the pusher jack is determined by a program unit which selectively energizes the coils of the electromagnetic array.

Abstract: A process for knitting a single-faced pile fabric is disclosed, based on the raising and lowering of conventional needles and the movement of throated sinkers, each sinker having the throat extended and provided with a sloping shoulder in the lower edge thereof, a re-entrant bevel on the upper leading edge and a notch on the upper edge.

Abstract: The invention relates to movable stitch cams for circular knitting machines wherein the stitch adjustment is effected by rotation of the cam around an axis of rotation and wherein the main portion of the active portion of the cam lies on an arc of a circle having its center on the axis of rotation of the cam.

Abstract: The invention comprises an improved knitting apparatus for producing knit fabrics on which terry loops are provided at least on the technical front face thereof. The terry loops are interconnected or knitted jointly with the ground yarn into the base fabric so that they are securely held therein. Novel sinker elements are used to control the positioning of the fabric as it is knit with the sinker elements serving to initially support the fabric at a level high enough to allow loops to be formed in the front face, with the sinker element thereafter forcing the fabric and just formed loops down into the sinker throat away from any possible scissoring action between the needle cheeks and the cooperating latch.

Abstract: The invention discloses an apparatus for tensioning and taking-up the fabric emerging from a circular knitting machine and which comprises four rollers having parallel and essentially coplanar shafts. There are means for moving three of the rollers transversally, the non-movable roller being mechanically connected to the rotary movement of the knitting machine to cause its rotation.

Abstract: A needle selection mechanism for knitting machines wherein each selector member has a selection cam portion and a cocking member engaging portion which cocking member is constituted by a jack butt adapted to be selected by the selector member and in turn cock the selector member whereby the latter, when held by an electromagnetic misses the following selector jack having a butt at the same level, and when released thereby engages said following selector jack.
