  • Patent number: 4624551
Abstract: A control method for the projection optical system of a projection exposure apparatus used in the fabrication of LSIs. The amount of energy incident to the projection optical system during each unit time is maintained constant at all times including each projection and the intervals between the projection operations. This has the effect of cancelling any error in the projected image, particularly any variation of the magnification error with time due to any variation of the optical performance of the projection optical system caused by the illuminating energy.

  • Patent number: 4624032
Abstract: A slide fastener slider has an arch-shaped lug projecting from the top surface of an upper wing and terminating in a rear free end spaced from the top surface of the upper wing by a predetermined gap. A slide is slidably mounted in the upper wing and has a closure projection. The slide is movable between an open position in which the closure projection is spaced from the free end of the lug to open the gap for allowing the pintle of a pull tab to pass therethrough, and a closed position in which the closure projection is disposed adjacent to the free end of the lug to close the gap for preventing the pintle of the pull tab from passing therethrough. The slide is normally urged to its closed position by a spring mounted in the upper wing.

  • Patent number: 4624199
Abstract: A button attaching machine having an apparatus for preventing button parts from falling from an intermediate chute when the latter is detached from a chute assembly. The apparatus includes a transverse lever pivotally connected at one end to a bracket mounted on a lower end of the intermediate chute, and a blocking member carried on the lever remotely from the bracket and having a first and a second projection. The lever is normally urged by a spring to turn so as to cause the first projection to penetrate into a channel of the chute, thus blocking the passage of the button parts. When the chute is mounted, the second projection is pushed by a stop until the first projection is retracted from the channel of the chute, thus allowing the passage of the button parts.

  • Patent number: 4624542
Abstract: A buffer comprises a specially designed bearing for supporting the rotation axis of a rotatable mirror. The bearing structure is so designed that when the rotation of the mirror is stopped by a stopper, the bearing can shift the rotation axis in the direction in which force is applied to the rotation axis. This shift takes place at the moment of mirror stop. Immediately after the shift, the rotation axis is returned to its original position by a biasing force.

  • Patent number: 4624809
Abstract: The invention provides method and apparatus for forming upper stops of a concealed type slide fastener. A concealed type slide fastener comprises a pair of fastener stringers each consisting of a fastener tape having a turn-up along one side thereof and fastener elements of thermoplastic resin secured to the turn-up. Portions of the elements are fused to form upper stops. In the method and apparatus of the invention, a pair of spaced projections are formed on a base and placed with respect to fastener stringers of a slide fastener or continuous fastener chain so that the projections pass between the stringers. The fastener elements are urged toward the projections while portions of the projections engage the arrest the element-mounting-side margins of the tapes to expose the interengaging heads of the elements so that only the interengaging heads are fused.

  • Patent number: 4624369
Abstract: Slide fasteners are fed longitudinally one at a time along a path by at least one stream of air flowing along the path, and are then introduced into a clearance or gate which is narrow enough to prevent the passage of sliders so that when the slide fasteners have respective sliders, they are stopped at the gate, while when the slide fasteners have no sliders, they are allowed to pass through the gate and be further advanced by the stream of air. Thus the slide fasteners are automatically sorted or separated into two groups according to the presence of the sliders. Thereafter, the stream of air is interrupted whereupon the slide fasteners stopped at the gate are allowed to fall from the path into a container disposed below the gate. The slide fasteners thus fallen are disposed in the container in juxtaposition.

  • Patent number: 4623168
Abstract: An automatic seat belt system makes use of a drive member, for example, a drive tape for causing a runner to move back and forth along a guide rail mounted from the side roof to the center pillar within the room of an automobile. The drive tape is formed of a stretched tape made of a polyamide resin such as nylon 11 or nylon 12. The drive tape requires a low material cost and exhibits superb resistance to tensile and compression forces. The former advantage enables to reduce the overall manufacturing cost of the automatic seat belt system. On the other hand, the latter advantage permits use of a narrower and thinner drive tape, whereby permitting an overall size reduction to the automatic seat belt system. Owing to the possibility of using such a narrow drive tape, the drive tape can be arranged in a state bent in its widthwise direction without increasing its sliding resistance to any substantial degree.

  • Patent number: 4623053
Abstract: A control device for a hydraulic direct-coupling clutch of a hydraulic torque converter installed in an automotive vehicle, which is adapted to control the supply of operating fluid to the direct-coupling clutch by means of an electrically actuatable selector valve. Pilot fluid pressure generated by a pilot fluid pressure source acts upon one end face of a valve body of the selector valve to bias the valve body to a position for supplying the operating fluid to the direct-coupling clutch. A drain line communicates a pressure chamber of the selector valve defined by the one end face of the valve body with a zone under a low pressure, and an electromagnetic valve is arranged across the drain line, which is adapted to open the drain line when energized, to permit the pilot fluid pressure in the pressure chamber to escape to the zone under a lower pressure.

  • Patent number: 4623927
Abstract: A solid state image pickup apparatus can obtain a constant photoelectric transfer output even if an incident light intensity is very high, so that a signal processing circuit to be connected to an output of the apparatus can be simplified in configuration and only low voltage and low power are required. In the apparatus, an incident light intensity on a photoelectric transfer surface is detected, and a charge stored time is decreased in accordance with an increase in the incident light intensity. When the incident light intensity falls within a normal range, the transfer gate clock pulse is controlled to have a predetermined pulse width so as to allow transfer of the photoelectric transfer charge to the CCD shift register. Thus, a substantially constant photoelectric transfer output can be obtained. When the incident light intensity is high, the pulse width of the transfer gate clock is decreased.
