  • Patent number: 7111541
Abstract: A cutting device includes a cutter rod, and a movable cutting tool of a length greater than the diameter of the cutter rod. The movable cutting tool is prevented from cracking and breaking. A movable cutting tool (7) has protruding parts (7b) protruding radially outward from a large-diameter part (40b) of a cutter rod (4) and having cylindrical surfaces (7c) of a cylinder of a radius equal to that of the large-diameter part (40b). The movable cutting tool (7) is attached to a flat surface (40c) formed in the cutter rod (4) with the cylindrical surfaces (7c) in close contact with the circumference of the large-diameter part (40b) of the cutter rod (4) to bear external force exerted on the protruding parts (7b) by the cutter rod (4).

  • Patent number: 7100373
Abstract: A hydraulic tool is provided with a spool valve 24 for changing the flow of a working fluid pressurized by a hydraulic power generating mechanism in a hydraulic circuit. The spool valve 24 is slidable in directions perpendicular to a piston rod 18. A cylindrical grip handle 34 to be operated by the operator's hand is extended parallel to the piston rod 18 on the outer surface of the main casing 5 so as to be turnable about its own axis. The spool valve 24 and the grip handle 34 are interlocked by a cam mechanism including members 29, 30 and 21. The spool valve 24 is moved axially by turning the grip handle 34 to control the flow direction of the working fluid.

  • Patent number: 7020967
Abstract: A rod cutting device includes a cutting head including a stationary cutting blade and a movable cutting blade for cutting off a waste part of a rod, and a waste part holding mechanism disposed near a cutting operation completing position, toward which the movable cutting chip is moved toward complete a rod cutting operation, to hold the part of the rod that has been cut off. The waste part holding mechanism employs a magnetic holding member for holding a waste part of a magnetic material or a resilient holding member for holding a waste part of a nonmagnetic material. The part of the rod that has been cut off is held and prevented from dropping by the waste part holding mechanism.

  • Patent number: 6457243
Abstract: A punching machine has a power-driven plunger to which a punch is chucked to be driven into and out of a die for perforating sheet-metal work. The plunger has a punch socket formed centrally in its end for receiving the shank of the punch, and a plurality of ball guideways extending radially outwardly from the punch socket. Locking balls are slidably received one in each ball guideway for movement into and out of locking engagement in an annular groove in the shank of the punch received in the punch socket. Concentrically mounted on the plunger, a cam ring is sprung in one axial direction of the plunger for urging the locking balls into locking engagement with the punch shank. Each locking ball is elongated radially of the plunger with a view to reduction of the machine dimension axially of the plunger for given diameters of the plunger and the punch.

  • Patent number: 6000680
Abstract: A portable, hydraulic prying machine is disclosed for use, for example, in prying open the doors of apartment buildings or of motor vehicles by rescue members in the event of an emergency. A motor and pump assembly, comprising an electric motor and a hydraulic pump driven thereby, is coupled to a pry assembly solely through the medium of a flexible conduit for delivery of a fluid under pressure from the pump to a hydraulic cylinder included in the pry assembly. The hydraulic cylinder on extension causes a pair of prying jaws to spread apart for forcing open the door. Being practically separate from the rest of the machine, the pry assembly is easier of handling. Additional embodiments are disclosed in which the pry assembly is replaced by other tool assemblies for other operations.

  • Patent number: 5974926
Abstract: A shear assembly to be replaceably installed in a portable, hydraulic punch press for cutting L sectioned steel strips at, typically, 45 degrees preparatory to combining them into rectangular frames at sites of construction. The shear assembly comprises a fixed shear in the shape of a female V with an apex angle of 90 degrees, and a movable shear in the shape of a male V movable up and down past the fixed shear. Formed in fixed relation to the fixed shear is a work rest having a pair of contact surfaces with a ridge therebetween in alignment with the apex of the fixed shear. The contact surfaces of the work rest are so positioned and angled that the opposite ends of an L sectioned steel strip can be cut off into angles of symmetrical shape. An alternate embodiment is disclosed.
