Abstract: A hair coloring composition that includes about 5 to 25 wt. % of a first monosaccharide having 2 to 4 carbon atoms, up to about 10 wt. % of a second monosaccharide having 2 to 4 carbon atoms, about 0.1 to 5 wt. % of a surfactant, and about 0.1 to 5 wt. % of a delivery agent, each based on a total weight of the hair coloring composition. A method for coloring hair, that involves applying the hair coloring composition onto the hair, and optionally applying heat to the hair at a dyeing temperature of 30 to 205° C.

Abstract: The present application discloses hair conditioning compositions which provide effective hair conditioning, particularly to wavy or curly hair, the conditioning benefit lasting in the hair over several (up to 10) subsequent shampooings. The compositions comprise a film-forming polyester that is the reaction product of at least one diol, at least one polyol, and at least one dicarboxylic acid; polyquaternium-52 and/or polyquaternium-37; and at least one amino or aminopropyl-functional silicone, in an aqueous vehicle. The composition may additionally include dimethicone and/or a branched-chain ester. The method of conditioning hair using the defined compositions is also disclosed.

Abstract: A package for dispensing product includes a tube assembly and an applicator. The tube assembly includes a first tube holding a first product and a second tube holding a second product. A first tube head assembly is coupled with the first tube and includes a first conduit in fluid communication with the first product. A second tube head assembly is coupled with the second tube and includes a second conduit in fluid communication with the second product. The applicator comprises a seal that seals both the first and second conduits.

Abstract: The present application discloses a hairstyling composition, particularly for curly hair, which produces tight, long-lasting curls without requiring the use of high heat applied to the hair. The composition comprises a sulfonate-based copolymer (such as sodium polystyrene sulfonate), an aqueous polyurethane dispersion (such as polyurethane-34) and a cosmetically-acceptable carrier (such as water). The method of styling hair using the defined composition, without requiring the application of high heat to the hair, is also disclosed.

Abstract: A wet skin moisturizer (WSM) composition, in the form of an oil-in-water emulsion, contains the following components: a cationic emulsifier (such as behentrimonium chloride), a skin conditioner component (such as behenamidopropyl dimethylamine), and a block copolymer which comprises at least one segment derived from a thermoplastic monomer chosen from thermoplastic monomers, thermoplastic comonomers and mixtures thereof (such as a mixture of ethylene/propylene/styrene copolymer and butylene/ethylene/styrene copolymer). This composition is applied to previously-wetted skin following a shower or bath, after which the moisturized skin is dried. The composition blends nicely with the water on the skin to provide an even film that does not feel greasy on the skin and which provides the skin with hydration and skin conditioning benefits.

Abstract: Rinse-off of the volumizing compositions, having an acidic pH, and in the form of a lotion, gel or cream are disclosed. The compositions include one or more linear hairstyling polymers which exhibit polar behavior in acidic pH, such as polyvinylpyrrolidone, together with a selected group of polycationic hairstyling polymers, such as polyquaternium-37. The compositions not only provide a strong hair volumizing effect, but that effect is durable, being retained after two or more shampooing operations of the hair. The compositions are used by applying an effective amount to wet hair, leaving the composition for at least about three minutes, and rinsing the composition out of the hair.

Abstract: The present invention provides novel cosmetic compositions for artificially tanning the skin, utilizing skin-tanning agents and odor-mitigating materials, such as specifically defined starch materials. The compositions reduce the undesirable odors associated with the reaction between the skin-tanning agents, such as dihydroxyacetone, and the skin (chemically known as the Maillard reaction). The method of using those compositions and of formulating those compositions is also disclosed.

Abstract: Compositions for providing hair care benefits, such as smoothing, anti-static control, color protection, frizz control and moisturization are disclosed. The compositions maintain clarity, show no separation upon standing, and remain flowable liquids at room temperature. The compositions comprise a premix consisting essentially of (a) siloxane polymers containing one or more functional groups selected from amino, phenyl, methoxy, hydroxyl, fatty alcohol, fatty acid, alkyl and combinations thereof; and (b) materials selected from dimethicones having a viscosity of from about 20 to about 10,000 centipoise, mono-esters containing 20 or fewer carbon atoms, ethers containing 20 or fewer carbon atoms, linear or branched hydrocarbons containing 12 to 20 carbon atoms, and combinations thereof. The compositions can be applied directly to hair (i.e., “neat”) or via conventional hair treatment compositions, such as shampoos or conditioners.

Abstract: A body cosmetic for application to wetted skin after showering, and the like, which provide high moisturizing effects, all over body spreadability, and easy application with a non-greasy and non-sticky feeling. An oil-in-water body cosmetic for application to wetted skin, which contains the following components (A) to (D): (A) from about 0.1% to about 1% of block copolymer; (B) from about 3% to about 10% branched fatty acid ester; (C) from about 3% to about 20% hydrocarbon oil; and (D) from about 5% to about 50% glycerin.

Abstract: Aqueous hair care compositions which provide hair styling, hair lightening and hair conditioning benefits are disclosed. The compositions provide hair lightening effects greater than that which would typically be achieved using hydrogen peroxide solutions alone. The compositions comprise a stabilized oxidative compound, a film-forming hair care polymer, a cationic hair care polymer, and water. The method of conditioning, styling and coloring hair utilizing the disclosed compositions is also disclosed.

Abstract: Cosmetic compositions which, when applied to the skin, mask skin imperfections and provide more uniform skin tone are described. The compositions can be formulated to address the needs of users having a specific skin tone. The compositions include one or more pigments (e.g., iron oxides) and may also include reflective particles such as mica coated with iron oxide and/or titanium dioxide. The compositions can be oil-in-water emulsions comprising a discontinuous oil phase dispersed in a continuous aqueous phase. The compositions can also include emollients, one or more skin sheen additives, a film former (e.g., polycyclopentadiene) and isohexadecane. Compositions formulated for lighter skin tones can include one or more sunscreen agents. The compositions can be formulated to have high color transfer resistance. Methods of making the compositions and methods of treatment comprising applying the compositions to the skin are also described.
