Abstract: A shaft seal includes a radially outward flange area and a radially inward sealing lip connected to the flange area. An annular spring with a U-shaped or V-shaped cross section is arranged on a radial outer face of the sealing lip, wherein an outer limb bears on the flange area and an inner limb bears on the sealing lip, and wherein a surface of the spring exposed to an exterior of the shaft seal is coated with an elastomer. The invention also relates to a method for producing a shaft seal.
Abstract: An eyepiece includes a focusing apparatus for positioning the area perceived as in focus by the relaxed human eye and for correcting axial ametropia of an eye of a user of the eyepiece and a correction apparatus for adjustable correction of an astigmatism of an eye of a user of the eyepiece.
Abstract: A linear drive for a miniaturized optical system, as used for example in an endoscope, includes a stator and an armature. The stator has a coil with two stator pole shoes arranged in axial direction, and two magnetic field sensors arranged at the outer side of the stator pole shoes. The armature has permanent magnets which are polarized in opposite directions, and a center armature pole shoe between the two permanent magnets, and an armature pole shoe at each side of the permanent magnet, opposite to the center armature pole shoe in axial direction. The magnetic field of the outer armature pole shoe goes completely or only in part, dependent from the armature position, through the magnetic field sensor and thus generates a position-dependent signal. This signal can be used for measuring and/or controlling the position of the armature.
Abstract: An illuminating lens for a medical headlamp, endoscope or exoscope, to generate an illuminating light bundle with variable light distribution includes a liquid lens with variable focal length to modify a focusing of the illuminating light bundle. The invention also relates to an observation device with an illuminating lens of this type as well as a method to generate an illuminating light bundle with variable light distribution.
Abstract: The invention relates to a lighting system for endoscopic examinations having a lighting unit that includes at least two LED elements for illuminating an area of examination that is to be observed by means of an endoscope optic. To create a lighting system for endoscopic examinations that ensures a constantly sufficient illumination of the area of examination, it is proposed according to the invention that the direction of radiation of the lighting unit can be displaced between a direction essentially perpendicular to the direction of observation of the endoscope optic upon insertion into the area of examination and a direction essentially in the direction of observation of the endoscope optic after insertion into the area of examination.
Abstract: An endoscope with adjustable viewing angle, in which the viewing angle can pivot around a pivot axis, includes a fixed reflecting surface for reflecting illuminating light from a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis of the endoscope to a direction parallel to the pivot axis of the viewing angle and a pivotable reflecting surface for reflecting illuminating light from a direction parallel to the pivot axis of the viewing angle to the viewing angle for illuminating an object observed by the endoscope, such that at least either the fixed reflecting surface or the pivotable reflecting surface is curved.
Abstract: Surgical gripping forceps are provided with one or two gripping jaws movable relative to a main body, wherein each moveable one of the gripping jaws has a pivot pin, fixed in position relative to the main body, and a lever arm. The lever arms are articulated via at least one push element. For this purpose each movable one of the gripping jaws has its own pivot pin. From the midline of the main body, the individual pivot pin has at least a distance greater than 38% of the maximum width of the main body or maximum diameter of the main body. The microsurgical gripping forceps operate with customary force for actuating the forceps, and permit a substantial applied clamping force.
Abstract: Apparatus and method for detecting the presence of a mobile device in a room, the apparatus having a device control unit for controlling a target device, a mobile device for controlling a target device, a signal source for emitting a pilot signal, a signal receiver for receiving a room signal caused by the pilot signal, the signal receiver arranged in the vicinity of the mobile device and outputting a measurement signal in response to the room signal, a signal control unit for controlling the signal source, the signal control unit controlling the signal source based on an actual value signal obtained from the measurement signal in such a manner that the actual value signal approaches a predefinable target value signal over time, and the device control unit configured to control the target device by means of the mobile device on the basis of whether the approach has taken place.
Abstract: Handling device for the foiniation of a disassemblable medical instrument comprises a first component, a second component, which can be moved relative to the first component, a coupling device on the second component, wherein the coupling device is designed and arranged in order to be coupled to a corresponding coupling device at the proximal end of a force transmission device within a working range of positions of the second component and in order not to be coupled to a corresponding coupling device at the proximal end of a force transmission device in a release position of the second component, and a guiding device on the first component for guiding a corresponding coupling device at the proximal end of a force transmission device within a transitional range between one end of the working range and the release position.

Abstract: A rod lens that includes a rod-shaped lens unit made of a rod-shaped lens element or a plurality of lens elements cemented to one another, wherein, on the circumferential face thereof, the lens unit includes at least one axially magnetized magnet arrangement. The invention also relates to an endoscope with a lens arrangement, which includes at least a first and, arranged adjacent to the first, a second rod lens, and to a method for assembling such an endoscope.
Abstract: A medical instrument has two individual parts. The first individual part has an eyelet, which is provided with an edge fully surrounding the eyelet opening. A second individual part includes a corkscrew-like manner connection body having turns which are wound into the eyelet opening.
