Abstract: A method and device for operating an RF surgical assembly for the RF surgical removal of pathological tissue in hollow organs of a patient wherein the RF surgical assembly includes an RF surgical device having an RF generator for generating an RF current and a bipolar loop having two mutually insulated loop sections which can be brought electrically in contact with the tissue and wherein the RF generator has a first and an antipolar second output.
Abstract: A suture holding system including a suture and a block having first, second and third regions for receiving the suture, having proximal and distal ends, is provided. The suture is received in the first and second regions of the block, defining a first suture portion, and is then received in the third region before passing between the block and the first suture portion, defining a second suture portion. In this configuration, pulling on the distal end of the suture selectively locks the suture to block, whereas pulling on the proximal end of the suture allows the suture to advance freely in that direction. Suture holding system may also include a second block, being rotated 180 degrees with respect to the first block. A delivery device for implanting the suture holding system in soft tissue and methods for repairing a tear in soft tissue are also provided.
Abstract: A medical manipulator comprises a distal end working unit including a gripper as an end effector, an operating unit for operating the distal end working unit, a coupling interconnecting the distal end working unit and the operating unit, and an attitude changing mechanism for changing an attitude of the distal end working unit. When the operating unit is operated by an operator, the end effector is mechanically operated by a transmitting member. The attitude changing mechanism is operated by a bending drive source and a rotational drive source, which are operated when the operating unit is operated by the operator.
Abstract: In an optics tube for an endoscope, a lens arrangement including at least one rod lens is received in the inside of the optics tube, wherein a sleeve is fixed on the at least one rod lens and at least partially encloses the rod lens, and wherein the sleeve is welded to the optics tube. The invention also relates to an endoscope having such an optics tube, and to a method for mounting at least one rod lens in the inside of an optics tube.
Abstract: A medical instrument with a handle arranged at the proximal end, with a shank arranged on the handle, and with a tool arranged at the distal end of the shank. The medical instrument can provide several functionalities, for example the rotation about the longitudinal axis of the medical instrument, the pivoting of the tool relative to the longitudinal axis of the medical instrument and/or the actuation of the tool, for example the opening or closing of scissors. Some of these functionalities are activated with the aid of a single common actuation element. By moving the actuation element between several switch positions, different functionalities are selected, and these are activated, e.g. by rotation of the actuation element.
Abstract: A sealing device for a medical instrument includes a fastening area and a sealing area designed to either bear on the circumference of a medical instrument inserted into the sealing device or to close the sealing device when no medical instrument is inserted. The sealing device further includes a first elastic wall enclosing the sealing area in a ring shape, with an annular first edge, which is connected to the sealing area, and an annular second edge, and a second elastic wall which encloses the first wall in a ring shape and is spaced apart there from, with an annular first edge and an annular second edge, which is connected to the fastening area.
Abstract: An anchor element serves for knotless fixing of a tissue to a bone by at least one suture threaded through the anchor element. A body of that anchor element has an outer surface with projections. A transverse bore is arranged in a distal end section of the body for receiving a threading passing therethrough. A clamp element serves for clamping the suture threaded transversely through the bore. The clamping element has a portion arranged within the body and is movable within the body towards that transverse bore.

Abstract: A visual field apparatus for an image transmission apparatus including a channel that connects the proximal end and the distal end of the visual field apparatus, for inputting the image transmission apparatus, and an optical device on the distal end of the channel that is configured to influence the visual field or the focusing of the image transmission apparatus. A method for preparing an endoscope for a succeeding use including determining a visual field required for the succeeding use, selecting a visual field apparatus with the determined visual field and a channel, and combining the image transmission apparatus with the selected visual field apparatus. A method for autoclaving a visual field apparatus for an image transmission apparatus, including closing the channel on the proximal end so that it is fluid-tight, autoclaving the visual field apparatus after the fluid-tight closing, and opening the channel on the proximal end after autoclaving.
Abstract: An illumination arrangement according to the invention, in particular for an endoscope, comprises at least three light sources for generating a respective input light beam, and a beam combination device (5, 21), wherein the beam combination device (5, 21) comprises at least two beam splitters for combining the at least three input light beams to form an output light beam, at least three collimator lenses (7, 8, 9) embodied as GRIN lenses and serving for collimating and coupling a respective one of the input light beams into one of the beam splitters, and at least one further GRIN lens for coupling the output light beam into an optical waveguide. The invention also relates to a beam combination device and a method for coupling at least three input light beams into an optical waveguide, in particular into an optical waveguide of an endoscope.
