In an aspect, disclosed is a device having a generally planar tension relief module and a flexible sealant structure sized to cover the tension relief module, the flexible sealant structure comprising a lower adhesive surface. The tension relief module includes a conduit structure having a plurality of support structures on an upper surface of the conduit structure and at least one opening extending through the conduit structure from a lower surface to the upper surface. At least a portion of the conduit structure is adapted to be aligned with a longitudinal axis of the incision. The tension relief module also includes opposing adhesive structures coupled to the conduit structure. The lower adhesive surface of the flexible sealant structure and the upper surface of the conduit structure form a flow pathway.

    Abstract: Devices and methods for skin graft harvesting are disclosed. In one aspect of the invention, substrates for transplanting skin grafts are disclosed that include a soft-tack, biocompatible composition having a surface adapted to contact at least one excised skin graft and engage the graft for removal from a donor site. In another aspect of the invention, at least a portion of the skin-contacting surface of the substrate (or dressing) is porous to facilitate fluid transport into (or out of) the graft site during harvesting and/or transplantation. The substrates can also incorporate an absorbent component to capture fluids. The substrate can be a mesh or fabric or web, e.g. woven, knitted, nonwoven or molded. The substrate can be a mesh of biocompatible fibers, for example, cellulosic, polyolefins, polyurethanes, polyesters or polyamide fibers. In one embodiment the mesh is formed of cellulose acetate fibers and coated with a silicone gel, to imparted the desire degree of tackiness.

A portion of the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer extends through the plurality of apertures in the soft-gel layer to contact the tissue site. The soft-gel layer forms a good seal with the tissue site and the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer extending through the plurality of apertures forms a firm—but releasable—coupling with the tissue site.

    Abstract: A two-cavity pump having a single valve in one cavity and a bidirectional valve in another cavity is disclosed. The pump has a side wall closed by two end walls for containing a fluid. An actuator is disposed between the two end walls and functions as a portion of a common end wall of the two cavities. The actuator causes an oscillatory motion of the common end walls to generate radial pressure oscillations of the fluid within both cavities. An isolator flexibly supports the actuator. The first cavity includes the single valve disposed in one of a first and second aperture in the end wall to enable fluid flow in one direction. The second cavity includes the bidirectional valve disposed in one of a third and fourth aperture in the end wall to enable fluid flow in both directions.
