  • Patent number: 10240660
Abstract: A flywheel device includes structures allowing the flywheel system to be assembled offsite, transported safely, and installed with relatively few steps. The flywheel includes a rotor and a housing enclosing the rotor, where the housing includes a bottom plate, a top plate and side walls. The bottom plate and the top plate each includes a hole aligned with the center axis of the rotor. The flywheel also includes multiple bearing housings substantially covering the holes of the bottom plate and the top plate that are aligned to the center axis of the rotor. The flywheel also includes posts that physically contact the primary rotational mass of the rotor to prevent motion of the rotor during transport of the flywheel system. Some or all of these posts may be repositioned or removed during installation so that the rotor can spin freely.

  • Publication number: 20190032253
Abstract: A sensing apparatus for yarn feeder may comprise a yarn feeder and a tension controller. The tension controller has an elongated sensing block installed therein, and a horizontal extending board is connected to the sensing block. An operating rod is mounted on a middle upper surface of the extending board at one end and upwardly sticks out of the tension controller to pivotally connect to a tension pulley at the other end. A yarn wound on a winding wheel of the yarn feeder is configured to couple with the tension pulley. At least an impedance sensing piece is attached on a surface of the sensing block, and a deformable hole horizontally penetrates through the sensing block. When the sensing block is pressed or pulled, the tension controller can obtain the tension value of the yarn and further calculate the torsion value of the yarn feeder.

  • Patent number: 10189523
Abstract: There is described a handlebar mountable bicycle light for fitting to a bicycle handlebar (3) between brake levers (4). The bicycle light comprises an upper cover (5) and a lower cover (6) which are preferably made from injection molded plastics and of a clam shell type arrangement able to receive handlebar (3) and rigidly retain light pipe assembly (7) with cover screws (8). Lower cover (6) contains an aperture (14) through which the handlebar stem (9) extends. The light pipe assembly (7) comprises a transparent rod-like light pipe (18) with LEDs (26) mounted at each end of the light pipe (18). The light pipe assembly 7 further includes heat sinks (24) to draw heat away from the LEDs (26). The arrangement is such that when the bicycle light is mounted to the handlebar, the heat sinks (24) are in contact with the handlebar so that heat from the LEDs may be conducted via the heat sinks (24) to the handlebar material.

  • Patent number: 10137502
Abstract: Near net shape refractory material is made in combustion driven compaction. The gas mixture is combusted, driving a piston or ram into a die containing refractory material powder, compressing the powder into a near net shape. As the chamber is filled with gas, the piston or ram is allowed to rest on the powder, pre-compressing the powder and removing trapped air. During compression, forces reach 150 tsi or more. Loading occurs within several hundred milliseconds. After compression, the shaped refractory part is sintered in a hydrogen environment. This process creates near net shape components with little scrap metal. The apparatus used to perform this process is about the size of a telephone booth and can be moved with a standard forklift. The powder may include a combination of Mo—Re, Re, W—Re, HfC and Hf of a fineness dictated by desired shrinkage, resulting in a material suitable for high-stress, high-temperature applications.
