Patent number: 10243744Abstract: The invention provides a method and system for generating a message authentication code (MAC) for authenticating a message and for verifying the integrity and authenticity of the message. The method for generating the MAC for authenticating the message includes the step of compressing the message to generate a fixed-size residue of the message. The fixed-size residue of the message is computed from the message modulo a divisor. The method, then, multiplies the fixed-size residue of the message by an authentication key. Thereafter, the method computes an authentication tag for the message by encrypting the fixed-size residue of the message utilizing a semantically secure encryption algorithm. The method, then, transmits both the message and the authentication tag of the message from a sender computing device to a receiver computing device where the method verifies the integrity and authenticity of the message using the authentication key.Type: GrantFiled: June 21, 2016Date of Patent: March 26, 2019Assignee: The King Abdulaziz City for Science and TechnologyInventor: Basel Saleh Alomair

Patent number: 10078877Abstract: The invention provides a method and system for embedding a watermark in a digital image and recovering the watermark from the digital image. The method includes representing the plurality of binary bits in the watermark using a plurality of symbols, wherein each symbol of the plurality of symbols represents at least two binary bits. The plurality of symbols are then transformed into a plurality of pseudo noise (PN) sequences, wherein a symbol transformed into a PN sequence represents one or more PN sequence vectors from a set of PN sequence vectors. Once the transformation is done, the plurality of PN sequences are embedded in the digital image to generate a watermarked image. During recovery, the watermark is recovered from the watermarked image by identifying the plurality of PN sequences in the watermarked image for recovering the corresponding plurality of symbols associated with the watermark.Type: GrantFiled: November 23, 2015Date of Patent: September 18, 2018Assignee: THE KING ABDULAZIZ CITY FOR SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (KACST)Inventors: Norah Alquwayfili, Amr Alasaad

Patent number: 10003129Abstract: An apparatus consisting of hierarchically elaborated antenna modules is calibrated by steps. Although the AWV can be calculated mathematically based on the required phase shift values of each antenna element for a beam direction to compensate for signal delay. However, in practice, due to hardware implementation imperfection, coupling in signal path for each antenna element within hardware, inaccuracies of implementations, physical misalignment, the mathematically generated AWV does not necessarily provide alignment between transmit beam and receive beam. This subset is sufficient is all practical operation. The subset of AWVs are typically called codebook and the receiver beam points to different direction by using a AWV within the codebook.Type: GrantFiled: December 29, 2015Date of Patent: June 19, 2018Assignees: Tubis Technology Inc, King Abdulaziz City for Science and TechnologyInventors: James June-Ming Wang, Chak-Ming Chie, Hamed Alsuraisry, Saleh Alsaif, Abdulelah Alshehri
