Abstract: A curable aqueous composition is disclosed comprising a carbohydrate, a crosslinking agent, and an amine base, wherein the curable aqueous composition has a pH adjusted by the amine base. Further disclosed is a method of forming a curable aqueous solution.
Abstract: The present invention relates to binder compositions with an improved amine component, and a method of manufacturing a collection of matter bound by said binder compositions.
Abstract: An un-reacted substantially formaldehyde free curable binder solution for binding loose matter consists essentially of a solution obtainable by dissolving a reducing sugar, an ammonium salt acid precursor, optionally a carboxylic acid or a precursor thereof and optionally ammonia in water.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for checking the presence and/or readability of an item of product information, in particular an item of packaging content information. An item of product information, in particular packaging content information, is applied to the product, in particular packaging, by using a printing device. A means of identification is applied by using the same printing device; and the product, in particular the packaging, is scanned with a reader in order to ascertain whether the means of identification is present and can be read, the means of identification comprising a barcode and/or a smart code, individual lines of the barcode being aligned parallel to a direction of print application, and the reader comprising an optical reader, in particular a barcode and/or smart-code reader, preferably a barcode and/or smart-code scanner.

Abstract: A binder based predominantly on molasses which incorporates both polymeric and monomeric polycarboxylic acid components to form a composite including both melanoidin and polyester polymeric structures. The binder incorporates the chemical profile of molasses with a mixture of polycarboxylic acids which combines to form a strong and weatherable binder composition which may be used to bind loosely or non-assembled matter.
Abstract: Methods of one or more embodiments include delivering hydrogen sulphide-containing exhaust gases to a current generation device where the gases are burnt, preferably with air being supplied. The energy released during combustion is employed at least partially for current generation. One or more embodiments also include an apparatus for current generation in which supplied hydrogen sulphide-containing exhaust gases are burnt, preferably with air being supplied.
Abstract: A binder comprising the products of a carbohydrate reactant and polyamine is disclosed. The binder is useful for consolidating loosely assembled matter, such as fibers. Uncured fibrous products comprising fibers in contact with a carbohydrate reactant and a polyamine are also disclosed. The binder composition may be cured to yield a fibrous product comprising fibers bound by a cross-linked polymer. Further disclosed are methods for binding fibers with the carbohydrate reactant and polyamine based binder.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to an insulative system and materials therefor comprising a polymeric composition disposed at the junctions of the framing and exterior sheathing. In particular, an insulative system and materials therefor comprising a polymeric composition in the form of a sealing structure in contact with both the framing and exterior sheathing of a building are described.
Abstract: Disclosed are formaldehyde-free, thermally-curable, alkaline, aqueous binder compositions, curable to formaldehyde-free, water-insoluble thermoset polyester resins, and uses thereof as binders for non-woven fibers and fiber material.
Abstract: The invention described herein pertains to formaldehyde free, thermosetting liquid high solids binder compositions having rapid cure times on thermal curing and slow cure times at ambient temperatures so that the uncured binder compositions and products which comprise the uncured binder compositions have improved shelf lives.
Abstract: The invention relates to a mineral wool product comprising mineral fibers that is marked with an UV or IR active substance and can therefore be identified under exposure to suitable radiation.
