Abstract: Systems and methods for conducting sales transactions are provided. Embodiments include portable, electronic, point of purchase devices configured to acquire identification information from articles to be purchased, to determine a purchase price, and to acquire payment information for the purchase price. The point of purchase devices may include one or more input devices such as a communication device, a camera, a scanner, and a sensor system for acquiring identification information and/or the payment information. The point of purchase devices also may contain an electronic display, communication interfaces (such as a near field communication interface, a local area network interface, Bluetooth® configurations, etc.) for transmitting and/or receiving information to/from connectable devices such as a mobile phone, BLE beacon and/or an external server.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus and method offering a specialized modular sled systems for combination, both in a physically proximate sense, and power usage-wise, mobile devices with peripheral devices without the need for cables, and with structural capabilities that offer the ability for a user to employ the same in substantially simultaneous fashion through a consolidated physical integration that eliminates uneven and/or problematic charging of the same.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus and method offering an improved approach to charging mobile devices, such as an illustrative specialized compact bar code scanner, without need for cumbersome wires or charging cradles, through an innovative casement having an integrally contained, or recessed (flush-mounted) swing-out USB connector which avoids severing or disconnection of wires between the swing-out USB connector and the mobile device over the course of repeated use. The present invention also relates to an improved casement structure for mobile devices and payment processing module encased therein.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for operative physical cooperation and ready detachment thereof between a mobile phone, tablet or the like, and an associated peripheral device such as barcode scanners and payment terminals, and improved methods for both physically combining the above and for electronically connecting the same, and for providing ports and mechanical structures which improve user ergodynamics through the use of foldable standing configurations and other aspects.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus and method offering a specialized modular sled systems for combination, both in a physically proximate sense, and electronically peripheral devices such as a compact bar code scanner, magnetic strip reader, IC card reader, RF tag reader, charging base, multi-threat monitors, biometric verification modules, etc., without the need for cables, and with structural capabilities that offer the ability for a user to employ the same in substantially simultaneous fashion through a consolidated physical integration that eliminates awkward manual manipulation of the same.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for employing a specialized key on a peripheral device such as a bar code scanner that can enabled the direct manipulation of a soft keyboard function on a smart device such as a iPhone® or iPad® or iPod® touch without either a suspension or disconnection of the connection via Bluetooth® between the bar code scanner and the smart device, and without any data loss being incurred from latency periods in the smart device.

Abstract: A device for scanning a bar code symbol is adapted to be worn comfortably on an operator's bare or gloved hand, arm, or wrist which does not interfere with normal use of the hand. When provisioned with a glove, a portable bar code scanner means is secured on the back of the glove and is electrically connected to an activation switch disposed at a button provided at the end of a cable for manipulation by a thumb or other finger. The activation switch triggers the portable bar code scanner means to scan a bar code symbol to be read.

Abstract: Provided are a method and an apparatus for searching neighboring Bluetooth® devices through an external terminal having programming capability. The inventive method provides for a slave Bluetooth® device to receive, from the external terminal, the MAC address and optional device name from a target Bluetooth® device.
Abstract: A system and method for the provision of communication across multiple devices in a multiplicity of communication environments, whether in a serial interface environment, or whether used in Bluetooth protocol-based devices, as well as in other communication devices, (ZigBee/WiFi/Wimax, etc.) that normally cannot readily establish such data exchange. The invention accomplishes this through inventive techniques and a circuit that uses multi-state voltage levels to multiplex RS232 communication between at least two, but normally three or more RS232 devices. To this end, the present invention enables a device having RS232 connection between at least two sub-systems, while each sub-system communicates with other external RS232 devices using same RS232 connection between at least two sub-systems.
Abstract: Provided are a method and an apparatus for searching neighboring Bluetooth devices through a portable terminal having a Bluetooth module. The inventive method addresses neighboring Bluetooth devices by establishing fixed device name and variable controller serial number, or other unique identifier.
Abstract: The present invention allows a user to place an order on an internal computer system or through a web site automatically by scanning UPC/EAN or product ID barcodes, without the need to modify supplier or other party websites. As such, a compact optical code reader with associated software is disclosed having multiple functions and is capable of performing various data processing functions involving scanned data. The system includes user and supplier identifiers which are employed to facilitate sales transactions.
Abstract: A system and method for the provision for the auto detection and data exchange within different data transmission environments, such as those involving serial devices, Bluetooth-based devices, ZigBee-based devices, WiFi-based devices and/or WiMax-based devices is provided for in the present invention.
