    Abstract: A single element objective lens for an optical disc drive converges a laser beam, which is emitted by a laser source, on a data recording surface of an optical disc through a protective layer of the optical disc. One surface of the objective lens is divided into a central area including an optical axis thereof and a peripheral area surrounding the central area. The peripheral area is provided with a diffraction lens structure formed by a plurality of concentric annular zones including minute steps. The central area is a continuous surface having no stepped portions. The diffraction lens structure compensates for variation of converging characteristic of the objective lens due to a change of a temperature.

    Abstract: Disclosed are a single-vision aspherical spectacle lens to correct eyesight and a processing method thereof. The spectacle lens has front and back surfaces, one of which is an aspherical surface. A framing reference point that is coincident with a pupil position of a user when the lens is installed on a frame is decentered from a geometrical center of an uncut circular lens (a semifinished lens blank or an uncut finished lens). Further, the symmetric axis of the aspherical surface passes the framing reference point. With this construction, a lens blank of small-size can be employed for manufacturing a spectacle lens for a large-size frame, and the optical performance can be kept high.

    Abstract: In order to prevent toner leaks from both sides of a developing roller disposed within a case accommodating polymerized toner, side seals each having a TEFLON® (polytetrafluoroethylene) felt member on its surface are provided to make sliding contact with a surface of the developing roller. In addition, “Hanarl FL-Z75” (80-90 wt. % hydrofluorocarbon and 10-20 wt. % polytetrafluoroethylene) manufactured by Kanto Kasei Ltd., is used as a lubricating agent for the TEFLON® felt members to make them more lubricative. Accordingly, noise generated by the side seals sliding contact with the developing roller can be reduced. To prevent toner leaks from the sides of the developing roller, a film or resin stopper is disposed at a lower-end front edge of the case to stop the toner.

The catalysts include a main catalyst made of at least one metal which is selected from the group consisting of an iron group element, a platinum group element, and a rare earth element, and an auxiliary catalyst made of a material which causes an exothermic reaction in a process of generating the web including the carbon nanotube. The auxiliary catalyst is made of a material for generating a carbide more stable in terms of thermal energy than a carbide generated by the main catalyst. The free formation energy of the carbide generated from the material is smaller than the free formation energy of the carbide generated by the main catalyst.
