  • Patent number: 5103018
Abstract: Mitomycin derivatives containing substituted dithioethylamino groups at the 7th position are provided. The mitomycin derivatives according to the present invention are superior to mitomycin C with respect to their improved anti-tumour activity and toxicity. More particularly, they exhibit a wider tolerance of dosage against Sarcoma 180A solid tumour as well as a better survival time and weaker bone marrow supression against P388.Furthermore, certain compounds exhibit a high water-solubility which is advantageous for pharmaceutical purposes. Excellent anti-tumour agents may readily be prepared by using the derivatives of the present invention.

  • Patent number: 5101924
Abstract: The invention relates to an electric motor driven vehicle having a driving unit assembled with a motor and transmission mechanism. In order to avoid a load in a low rotational state of the motor, the transmission mechanism is connected with the motor and driving wheel within a range of predetermined rotational numbers in which the motor approaches the vicinity of maximum efficiency. Accordingly, motor driving is possible from the start, and because of the small electric power and the low heat generating quantity, cruising distance is extended and the apparatus is consequently made to be compact and of light weight. The transmission is provided with an automatic starting clutch and an automatic transmission is used as the automatic transmission, operation of the motor near the vicinity of maximum efficiency can always be maintained in the usual speed change range. The driving unit can be constructed compactly as a power unit of swing type.

  • Patent number: 5101867
Abstract: A picking control apparatus for providing stable picking operation in a jet loom. The apparatus comprises an angle correcting section for outputting an angle correction amount of a picking start angle on the basis of an arrival angle deviation of filling yarn and a pressure correcting section for outputting a pressure correction amount of an injection pressure in a locking nozzle on the basis of a flying term deviation of filling yarn. The angle correcting section promptly corrects and controls a change of an arrival angle caused by a variation of flying characteristic of filling yarn, and thereafter the pressure correcting section corrects and controls a flying term so as to be adjusted to a set value. As a result, a stable picking operation in which only the picking start angle is not excessively deviated can be accomplished.

  • Patent number: 5099941
Abstract: A cruise control device is provided with a vehicle speed sensor for detecting the actual vehicle speed, and an electronic controller for controlling the opening of the throttle valve based on the detected vehicle speed, to bring the vehicle speed close to a target vehicle speed. The electronic controller serves to obtain a vehicle speed deviation between the target vehicle speed set by a set switch and the actual vehicle speed, select one of a P control mode, a P/D control mode and a fuzzy control mode corresponding to the magnitude of the vehicle speed deviation, and control the opening of the throttle valve. In addition to these functions, the electronic controller may additionally have the function of estimating a change in the vehicle speed provided that the current opening of the throttle valve is maintained, to obtain a correction value for the vehicle speed so that a corrected vehicle speed corrected by the correction value is used to control the opening of the throttle valve.

  • Patent number: 5099809
Abstract: A projection positioned in the center of a concave section of a toroidal combustion chamber is divided into a section with a steep slope extending from the bottom to the head surface and a section with a gentle slope. The head surface is in the form of a flattened conical trapezoid. Because of its shape, the projection makes it possible for the air which is close to the center section to flow close to the surface of a side wall of the concave section. The air which had been at the center section is added to the amount of air supplied for combustion and is mixed with the fuel in the vicinity of the surface of the side wall of the concave section. By setting the angle at which the air flows along the side wall surface (re-entrant angle) in the combustion chamber, the flow of the air close to the side wall surface is made turbulent, which improves the agitation of the fuel.

  • Patent number: 5100351
Abstract: Several embodiments of water cooled outboard motors embodying an exhaust system that includes at least one expansion chamber contained within the drive shaft housing and that is provided with a coolant jacket. A catalyst is positioned in the exhaust system within the expansion chamber for treating the exhaust gases delivered from the engine to the expansion chamber. The coolant from the cooling jacket is delivered back to the body of water in which the watercraft is operating without flowing into the expansion chamber so as to protect the catalyst from water damage. In some embodiments, plural expansion chambers are incorporaed. In these other embodiments, the expansion chambers are arranged so as to preclude the likelihood of water impinging on the catalyst if it enters through an underwater exhaust gas discharge opening and also the arrangement is such that water will not contact the catalyst when the outboard motor is tilted up to an out of the water condition.
