Patent number: 5092766Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide a pulse combustion method and a valveless pulse combustor in which the strong sound wave energy and the combustion gas generated by explosions in the combustion chamber are effectively used for drying of a substance with no waste of sound wave energy and heat of the combustion gas.A pulse combustion method according to the present invention is characterized by a step of pushing the sound wave energy and the combustion gas which flow toward the air intake back to the combustion chamber by jetting a compressed gas toward the air intake. By means of this step, the sound wave energy and the combustion gas which were generated at the time of explosion in the combustion chamber and flow toward the air intake are pushed back to the combustion chamber and further to the exhaust pipe by a stream of the compressed gas. This enables the sound wave energy and the combustion gas which have been conventionally wasted to be used for drying of a substance.Type: GrantFiled: December 17, 1990Date of Patent: March 3, 1992Assignee: Osaka Fuji Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Atsuyoshi Kubotani

Patent number: 5092257Abstract: In the automatic threading device for the sewing machine, the treading rod is lowered and rotated, and the threading hook is automatically inserted into and through the needle eye. However, if the presser-foot detector detects the presser-foot is lowered, the threading rod is prohibited from being operated. Alternatively, if the operation detector detects the sewing-machine motor is being operated, the threading rod is prohibited from being operated. Consequently, even if the operator by mistake presses the threading switch during sewing operation when the presser foot is lowered or the sewing-machine motor operates, the threading rod is prohibited from being driven. Therefore, the threading hook is prevented from being damaged. The threading switch can be provided on the front panel of the sewing machine, near the start-stop switch or in any other easily accessible position.Type: GrantFiled: September 17, 1990Date of Patent: March 3, 1992Assignee: Brother Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Masao Ogawa

Patent number: 5092298Abstract: In a throttle valve controller for controlling the opening and closing of a throttle valve in an internal combustion engine, the state of the throttle valve entering a sticking is detected from a difference between a target throttle valve opening degree and an actual throttle valve opening degree. When the throttle valve enters its sticking state, the amount of decrement in the output from the engine is calculated based on the current operational condition of the engine and an estimated value for the operational condition of the engine after elimination of the sticking. When the elimination of the sticking is detected on the basis of a sudden variation in throttle valve opening degree, the output from the engine is reduced by fuel cut on the basis of the amount of decrement in engine output. This prevents occurence of a sudden variation in output torque of the engine, which may otherwise be produced as a result of elimination of the sticking.Type: GrantFiled: March 7, 1991Date of Patent: March 3, 1992Assignee: Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Norio Suzuki, Hiroshi Kitagawa, Yoshio Wazaki
