    Abstract: Methods and devices are provided for use in a streaming process (130) of a Virtual Reality [VR] video to a VR rendering device (120). The streaming process has a configurable setup, each configured setup providing respective different image data of a scene. The VR rendering device is arranged to render a current view of the scene based on a current head position. The streaming process is executed according to a first configured setup providing first image data needed to render the current view. EEG data is determined by measuring brain signals (115) and a head movement is predicted based on the EEG data. Target image data is determined as needed for rendering a future view based on the predicted head movement. A new configured setup for providing the target image data is determined. By adapting the streaming process based on the prediction the target image data can be provided in time and efficiently using available bandwidth.

A signalling message is wirelessly received from the communication module in the telecommunications network. The signalling message contains the user data that is subsequently transferred to the data processing center. By inserting the user data in the signalling message(s), it is possible to rapidly transmit data to the telecommunications network, while resources can be saved since it not required to establish a complete circuit-switched or packet switched connection between the communication module and the telecommunications network. The user data may comprise application data of a program run by the communication module, e.g. alarming data, measurement data or derivatives thereof.

The method is implemented using the architectural principles of REST, which allows a binding initiator to directly contact the first device and instruct the device of actions to be taken. Specifically, the binding initiator may contact the first device by providing a first REST request to the device, the request specifying that the first device is to monitor a state of a particular REST resource identified by the request and is to trigger the second device to perform a specified action when the state of that REST resource satisfies a particular condition. Using REST further allows the first device to directly contact the second device and instruct the second device to perform the specified action. Since the first device is now able to directly contact the second device, these two devices may be considered to be bound.

For that purpose, source data is obtained from a plurality of stream sources. The source data is constituted by content data and/or metadata of concurrent portions of the plurality of media streams. By applying a quality assessment function to the source data, a quality score is assigned to each one of the concurrent portions. This allows selection data to be generated which enables the streaming client to access a selected one of the concurrent portions of a respective media stream. For example, a segment may be selected which provides a highest quality score. By doing so, it is therefore not required anymore for a consumer to manually switch between different media streams.
