Abstract: A lighting device 1 comprising a base part 2 with a first magnetic material, and a second part 3 is disclosed. The second part comprises a light source 4, and a nonmagnetic shell 5 defining an essentially closed cavity, the light source 4 and the nonmagnetic shell being in a fixed positional relationship, wherein the essentially closed cavity encloses a second magnetic material 6 displaceable therein. This provides a lighting device 1 in which the user may readily position the light source 4 with a large degree of freedom.

Abstract: A defibrillator electrode set for a defibrillator which senses the capacitance of an attached electrode set includes an electrode set coupled to the defibrillator by an adapter cable. The adapter cable and electrode set are pre-connected to the defibrillator prior to use. The electrodes are stored in a sealed foil package to retard gel desiccation prior to use. To reduce the capacitance of the electrode set seen by the defibrillator, the capacitance between the stored electrodes and the foil package is reduced by using a thicker dielectric layer for the layer of an electrode which opposes a wall of the foil package. In a constructed embodiment, one sixteenth inch thick polyethylene foam is used for the electrode layer opposing the wall of the foil package.

Abstract: The present invention relates to light emitting devices and more specifically to light emitting devices comprising light guides making use of total internal reflection (TIR). The light emitting device (100, 600) comprises a substrate (3), a plurality of light sources (2) mounted on the substrate (3) and a light guide plate (4). Reflective shielding (5) is arranged to shield the light guide plate (4) at positions were the flux of the direct light of the light sources (2) towards the light guide plate (4) have their maximum density in a powered state of the light sources (2). The reflective shielding (5) enhances the mixing of light and avoids glare problems. In-coupled is transmitted within the light guide plate (4) by total internal reflection so that light from different light sources (2) is mixed within the light guide plate (4). Further, at least a part of the lower surface is provided with an optical structure (6) for out-coupling of light.

Abstract: A light output sticker (10) comprises a flexible transparent substrate arrangement (11). A plurality of light source devices (14) are provided on or in the flexible substrate arrangement (11). A conductor arrangement (12) comprises conductor lines which connect to the light source devices. An adhesive layer (15) and release liner (16) are provided for attaching the sticker to an external substrate. The applied sticker is substantially transparent. The sticker of the invention avoids the need to embed the LEDs in a glass structure during the manufacturing of the glass. Instead, the LEDs are part of the transparent sticker, which can be added to a glass (or other material) substrate after manufacture of both the sticker and the glass (or other) material to which it is to be attached.

Abstract: This invention relates to a method and system for controlling light distribution in a space including multiple installed light sources and an external light source. The luminance level of light from said light sources is measured at different measuring areas within the space. A weighed luminance level is determined for each of the measuring areas based on the measured luminance levels, where the weighted luminance level indicates the contribution from the light sources to the measured luminance level at the different measuring areas. This weighed luminance level is used as a tuning parameter for tuning the emitted light at the installed light sources such that the weighed luminance level at each of the different measuring areas substantially matches a pre-defined target luminance level at the different measuring areas.
Abstract: A cooling device (1) using pulsating fluid for cooling of an object, comprising: a transducer (2) having a membrane adapted to generate pressure waves at a working frequency (fw), and a cavity (4) enclosing a first side of the membrane. The cavity (4) has at least one opening (5) adapted to emit a pulsating net output fluid flow towards the object, wherein the opening (5) is in communication with a second side of the membrane. The cavity (4) is sufficiently small to prevent fluid in the cavity (4) from acting as a spring in a resonating mass-spring system in the working range. This is advantageous as a volume velocity (u1) at the opening is essentially equal to a volume velocity (u1?) at the second side of the membrane, apart from a minus sign. Thus, at the working frequency the pulsating net output fluid can be largely cancelled due to the counter phase with the pressure waves on the second side of the membrane resulting in a close to zero far-field volume velocity.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a low cost LED driver module comprising a switched-mode power supply (smps) having down-converting characteristics (11) which is controlled by a comparator (31). The comparator is hysteresis configured, which reduces ripple and transients in the LED current, and the module can be accomplished with inexpensive standard components.
Abstract: The interactive modular tile system of the invention comprises a plurality of modular interactive tiles (11, 13). The system comprises electronic circuitry which is operative to determine a configuration of the plurality of modular interactive tiles, and determine whether a game can be played, which game can be played and/or which variation of a game can be played with the determined configuration. The computer program product of the invention enables a programmable device to function as the interactive modular tile system of the invention.

Abstract: A method and system for measuring agglutination in a target-induced agglutination assay with one or more magnetic particles is performed in a reaction chamber. After the magnetic particles, which are capable of binding to a target are provided in the assay, an agglutination process is performed resulting in agglutinated particles. Further an alternating current magnetic field (HAC) is applied to the assay. The method further includes measuring an effect of the HAC on the one or more magnetic particles unattached to any surface. The measured effect is indicative of one or more agglutination parameters.
