Abstract: An image processing method wherein a binary image is divided into blocks, at least one of the number of black picture elements and the number of white picture elements for each of the divided block of binary image are counted, and a tonal image is restored on the basis of the counted number from the binary image. An image processing apparatus for obtaining an expanded image or a contracted image by effecting a predetermined image processing for an image matrix consisting of binary data, having a device for instructing the gradation processing at the time of expanding or contracting the image, a device for instructing the kind of image pattern that is to be expanded or contracted, and a device for instructing the image gradation, wherein a predetermined image processing is effected depending upon these instructions.

Abstract: Disclosed is an automatic processing machine for a light-sensitive color photographic material, having a color developing tank as the formost tank of the processing tanks and a stabilizing tank as the last tank of the processing tanks, which comprises having a system for conveying a light-sensitive material which will not bring the stabilizing liquid components filled in the stabilizing tank into the color developing solution filled in the color developing tank.According to the automatic processing machine of the present invention, the technical task can be solved as a matter of course, and moreover no requirement for piping, no discharging of waste solutions of processing and its small size will result in exhibiting such effects that it can be installed on a floor of higher stage and also be moved, if necessary.

Abstract: A method for processing a light-sensitive silver halide photographic material, which comprises processing a light-sensitive silver halide photographic material subjected to imagewise exposure with a processing solution having fixing ability, and thereafter processing the material with a first stabilizing solution having a surface tension of 20 to 78 dyne/cm and a second stabilizing solution having a surface tension of 8 to 60 dyne/cm substantially without performing the water washing step.

Abstract: An image recording apparatus of the invention records an image on a recording medium by a scanning means which performs deflective scanning with light intensity-modulated in accordance with a recording signal. On-line image data is recorded by performing the deflective scanning a plurality of times. The recorded image has a larger number of gray levels than the number of modulation levels.

Abstract: A light beam scanning apparatus including a light source for emitting a light beam and a rotatable polygon mirror having at least one surface for reflecting the light beam to a second surface being scanned. A flat field lens is provided between the polygon mirror and the second surface and an optical system is provided close to the second surface. The optical system has a light converging effect only in the vertical direction perpendicular to the scanning direction, and the light beam forms a first beam waist between the flat field lens and the optical system, and a second beam waist substantially on the second surface.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus is disclosed, in which silver halide color photographic light-sensitive materials are used. The apparatus has a scanning exposure system and a processing system for the photographic materials. Two types of photographic materials, reflective type and transparent type, can be used interchangeably. Conditions of the exposure and the processing are automatically changed according to the types of the photographic materials.
