  • Patent number: 7076395
Abstract: An angle detection apparatus includes a resolver having a rotor core and a stator core, and a computation unit having a multiple rotation amount computation, accumulation and an abnormality determination sections. The rotor core moves along the axial direction of a steering shaft in response to rotation of the steering shaft. Based on a change of a transformation ratio of the resolver caused by a change of the relative positions of the rotor core and the stator core along the axial direction due to movement of the rotor core, the multiple rotation amount computation section computes a first multiple rotation amount N of the steering shaft. The multiple rotation amount accumulation section detects the switchover point of the absolute angle .theta.0 when the steering shaft is rotated a single rotation, and computes a second multiple rotation amount N? by accumulating the number of detection of the switchover point.

Abstract: In a universal joint in which each of shaft portions 1a of a cross shaft 1 is rotatably supported by: a shell cup 2 which is fitted into a fitting hole 10x disposed in a fork end portion 10a of a yoke; and a plurality of needle rollers 3 arranged on an inner circumference 2y of the bearing cup 2, an annular sealing member 4 for hermetically sealing the opening of the cup 2 is fitted and fixed to a shaft portion outer circumferential face 1x of the cross shaft 1 via a metal annular member 5. According to the configuration, it is possible to prevent the sealing member 4 from dropping out due to the increase in the internal pressure in attaching the shell cup 2 or the knocking-up by the rollers 3 in operation. A circumferential groove 10y is formed in an inner circumferential face of the fitting hole 10x of the yoke, and a retaining ring 7 is disposed in the circumferential groove 10y.

  • Publication number: 20060132083
Abstract: The controller for a brushless motor controls motor current by executing updates of applied voltage to a coil in accordance with rotational position of a rotor, the target current, and the actual current flowing through the coil. The updates of applied voltage to the coil are executed according to the results of calculations of applied voltage to the coil in accordance with the rotational position of the rotor, the target current, and the actual current flowing through the coil, in order to generate power for rotating the rotor by varying magnetic field generated by the coil. The cycle time of the updates of applied voltage is shorter than the cycle time of the calculations of applied voltage corresponding to the rotational position of the rotor.

  • Publication number: 20060130333
Abstract: A method sets a retained austenite amount of an edge of a bearing ring of a bearing to between 3% or more and 20% or less. The method includes exposing the bearing ring to an environment having a temperature in the range of 850° C. to 930° C., an ammonia concentration, and a carbon concentration C·P in a range of 0.9 to 1.1%, for a period of not more than 5 hours. The ammonia concentration of the environment is in a range of 4 to 7 CFH. The temperature of the environment is then reduced to a temperature in a range of 800° C. to 830° C. for a second period of at least 30 minutes. The bearing ring is next quenched in oil and then heat treated in an environment set to a temperature of 160° C. to 200° C. and then air cooled.

  • Publication number: 20060134344
Abstract: After forming a primary powder bed at a toothed portion of an article, such as a gear or a spline shaft, by electrostatic powder coating process, the powder bed is removed from crests of teeth in the toothed portion by a specified thickness by scraping it off while sucking up the scraped powder. Next, the electrostatic powder coating process is performed again to form a secondary powder bed over the entire surface of the toothed portion. Then, the primary and secondary powder beds are melted or fused by induction heating to thereby form a coating film of a substantially uniform thickness.
