  • Patent number: 5808849
Abstract: A method for the protection of in particular telecommunication installations against overvoltage and overcurrent by overvoltage arresters, PTC resistors and voltage-limiting components and to a protection circuit for carrying-out the method. The object of the invention, namely to develop a method and a circuit in particular for the protection of telecommunication installations against overvoltage and overcurrent that secures a surge-current resistant and reversible line protection, is achieved by the response voltage of the overvoltage arrester being higher than the peak value of a powersupply voltage, and that the response voltage of the thyristor diodes selected being slightly above the maximum operating voltage values of the line to be protected. The PTC resistors are used as a decoupling member to block the maximum amplitudes of the power supply voltage.

  • Patent number: 5774460
Abstract: A local ISDN transmission system has a central base station and a number of subscriber radio terminals greater than the number of communication channels. The system is connectable to subscriber ports through an S.sub.0 wireless transmission interface and is responsive to an activation request from a subscriber radio terminal for opening any available and free communication channel for a communication. An intermediate generator in the base station and in each subscriber terminal divides an ISDN two-wire subscriber connection line between a line termination section and a network termination section communicating by radio transmission. The intermediate generator, upon the occurrence of an activation request by a subscriber terminal, allocates a communication channel within waiting and monitoring periods for the activation of the ISDN two-wire subscriber connecting line.

  • Patent number: 5760551
Abstract: An automatic rearrangement and distribution device for telecommunication and data lines with connection terminals for exchange office and subscriber lines and a remote controllable connection device having a gripping element. To automate a re-arrangement and distribution device provided with connection blocks, the connection terminals are disposed in connection blocks radially directed relative to a central axis. The connection device is swingable in central axis, and a gripping element is disposed radially displaceably at the connection device. For connecting the rearrangement and distribution device to copper cables as well as to fiber-glass cables, without modifications being required, the control paths at blocks for fiber-glass and for copper cable applications have identical lengths.

  • Patent number: 5667400
Abstract: An obliquely disposed insulation displacement contact for the communication and data transfer. Wires having a lower rigidity than a copper wire of 0.4 mm diameter can also be contacted, and the insulation displacement contact to be provided is intended to fit into the previously used receiving portions of housings, without reducing the rigidity of the insulation displacement contact. This is achieved by opposingly providing angles, bending or parallely displacing contact parts towards outside the contact zones of the contact legs in the area of the contact slot or by cut-free portions of the contact zones.
