Abstract: The invention relates a distribution rack, for cable distribution devices used in telecommunication and data technology. The distribution rack includes at least one base portion 1 and at least one swing frame 3 provided with termination modules 4 and pivotingly supported at the base portion 1 about a swing axis 13 provided at one side thereof. In order to improve the accessibility to the cable duct behind the swung-in swing frame and to facilitate wiring of the cutting and clamping contact elements 5 of the termination modules 4 with cable cores, the invention provides that the swing axis 13 of the swing frame 3 at the base portion 1 is retractably supported. Thereby, with the swing frame 3 retracted and swung-out, fully free accessibility to the cable duct 42 beside the base portion and behind the swing frame 3 is made possible. Further, the cutting and clamping contact elements 5 of the termination modules 4 on the swing frame 3 are particularly easily accessible.

  • Patent number: 5287454
Abstract: Method for acquiring network knowledge in the individual operating locations of a digital transmission network having a plurality of network nodes.Following a computer outage, digital signal connections set up via central computers can no longer be reconstructed within the individual network nodes, so that no emergency operation is possible. The method is intended to place every participating network node into the position of maintaining the original or momentary path of the digital signal connection given computer outage or to restore it or, respectively, to independently set up or alternately route a connection. At the start of the digital signal connection, the digital signal is provided with an identifier in every transmission direction in the transmitting network node, this identifier being supplemented in every following, through-connecting and terminating network node. This identifier can be evaluated in each of these network nodes.

  • Patent number: 4889405
Abstract: Optical wave guides are interconnected with the use of two interfitting shell parts which when fitted together form a continuous tubular channel for receiving the wave guides between there. For this purpose a carrier shell part is provided with a continuous longitudinal groove of a size to accommodate a cover shell part and each part has a longitudinally extending receiving channel portion of complementary form which fit together and form a continuous receiving channel for the optical wave guides which are to be interconnected. After the wave guides are placed end to end in the longitudinally extending wave guide receiving channels defined in the carrier shell, a cover shell is engaged over the carrier shell in a manner which positions it complementary optical wave guide channel with the wave guide channel defined on the carrier shell portion. Wave guide channels are advantageously made with curved up portions at respective ends of the interfitting carrier shell and cover shell.

  • Patent number: 4882771
Abstract: The invention describes a method for optical communication of information between transmitter and receiver spatially separated from each other. The principle of heterodyne reception is utilized. A non-modulated optical carrier of a laser arranged on the receiving side is subdivided in a first fiber-optical coupler KE into two portions, the transmission path EMF and the local laser wave LL. In one branch, a displacement of frequency by the amount of .DELTA.f takes place. The non-modulated optical carrier passes through a one-mode fiber EMF in direction transmitting side and is modulated there with an effective signal in a modulator MOD (FIG. 1). This now modulated optical signal travels back to the receiving side, where it is converted with the local laser wave LL into an intermediate frequency band.
