Abstract: Trifluoromethylphenoxy phenoxy crotonic acid derivatives of the formula ##STR1## wherein X represents hydrogen or halogen atom, and R represents an alkyl, haloalkyl, alkenyl haloalkenyl or alkynyl group are disclosed. These compounds disclose herbicidal activity.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a compound having the following general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein X stands for a halogen atom or a methyl radical; and R stands for an alkyl or alkoxy radical containing 3 to 6 carbon atoms provided that R represents an alkyl radical containing 3 to 6 carbon atoms when X is a methyl radical, a process for the production thereof, an agricultural composition containing the said compound as an effective component, and a method for preventing and healing the diseases of the plant and in soil using the said compound.
Abstract: 2-Alkylbenzanilide is produced by reacting an alkyl 2-alkylbenzoate having the formula ##STR1## wherein X represents a lower alkyl group and R represents a lower alkyl group with an aniline having the formula ##STR2## wherein Y represents hydrogen atom, an alkoxy, alkenyloxy, alkynyloxy, benzyloxy or halobenzyloxy group in the presence of an alcoholate in a solvent which is hardly azeotropically distilled with the by-product of alcohol.
Abstract: A composition useful as herbicides, germicides, and acaricides without showing toxicity to men and beasts as well as to fish and shellfishes containing as the active ingredient the compound represented by the general formula ##STR1## wherein R represents a lower alkyl group; R' represents a group shown by the formula ##STR2## (WHEREIN Y represents a halogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, a nitro group, a methylthio group, or a trifluoromethyl group and n is an integer of 0 to 3); X represents an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom; and m is an integer of 3 to 6.
Abstract: Method of controlling fungal diseases in plants and Compositions effective therefor are shown. The method comprises the steps of applying an effective amount of a substituted derivative of 1,1,-dichloroalkene-1 of the general formulaR--X--(CH.sub.2).sub.n --CH.dbd.CCl.sub.2In this generalized formula R is an alkyl group having 1 to 12 carbon atoms, a phenyl group, a di-chloro-phenyl group, a methyl-phenyl group, a nitro-phenyl group, a benzyl group, a chloro-benzyl group, a di-chloro-benzyl group, a methyl-benzyl group, a phenethyl group or a benzothiazolyl group; X is sulfur, a sulfinyl group or a sulfonyl group; and n is an integer of 3,5, and 7.
Abstract: A novel class of compounds, tris(triorganosilylalkyl) phosphites, represented by the general formula [R.sub.3 Si(CH.sub.2).sub.n O].sub.3 P where R is a monovalent hydrocarbon group and n is 1, 2 or 3. These novel compounds may be synthesized by dehydrochlorination reaction between a triorganosilyl-substituted alkanol and phosphorus trichloride in the presence of a tertiary amine. They have useful values as agricultural chemicals because of their biological activities and also as intermediate compounds in the preparation of certain medicines and chemicals.

Abstract: A process for producing a mono- or di-alkali metal salt or alkaline earth metal salt of L-ascorbic acid-2-sulfate which comprises reacting L-ascorbic acid in which the 5 and 6 positions are protected by a ketone or aldehyde, with dimethyl formamide-sulfur trioxide complex, which is produced by a reaction of dimethyl formamide with chlorosulfonic acid and a dehydrohalogenating agent such as pyridine, triethylamine, dimethyl aniline, which is a tertiary amine so as to produce a sulfate, and neutralizing the product with an alkali metal hydroxide or an alkaline earth metal hydroxide, and removing said protecting aldehyde or ketone at 5- and 6-positions.
