  • Patent number: 9259633
Abstract: The application discloses a roller assembly that utilizes internal resistance components to increase resistance to enhance training intensity. The internal resistance components include a rotatable resistance component or impeller coupled to an outer tubular body of the roller. Embodiments disclosed also include a second resistance component to restrict rotation of the rotatable resistance component increasing the torque required to rotate the outer tubular body. In an illustrative embodiment, the rotatable resistance component forms an impeller which is disposed in a fluid chamber within the tubular body and the second resistance component is disposed in the fluid chamber and maintained in a stationary position to impart resistance to rotation, thus increasing the torque required to rotate the outer tubular body.

  • Patent number: 9193040
Abstract: A main machine vise has a second auxiliary vise having independently movable clamping jaws attached to it with the auxiliary vise set to one side of the main machine vise and above a supporting surface of a machine tool table on which the main machine vise is mounted. The auxiliary vise has a movable jaw that moves in a plane generally perpendicular to the tool table on which it is mounted, while the main machine vise has a movable jaw that moves in a plane parallel to the tool table or surface on which it is mounted. The auxiliary vise is mounted on a bracket that offsets the clamping jaws of the auxiliary vise from the main machine vise so that work pieces can be independently clamped in each of the vises. The auxiliary vise includes a vibration reducing stabilizer for attaching to the tool table or support.

  • Patent number: 9095958
Abstract: A vise assembly has a pair of moveable jaws mounted on guideways for movement toward and away from each other. The moveable jaws are driven by a vise screw on the vise body through head members of a pair of jaw nuts. The head members fit into cavities on the underside of the moveable jaws and have projections on first ends that have surfaces engaging mating recessed surfaces formed on one end of the cavities. Adjustable plungers are mounted on the head members and are extendable outwardly from a second end of the head members to engage and drive against surfaces of the cavities in a second direction. The adjustable plungers are adjustable in length so they can be retracted into mounting bores in the head members so the moveable jaws can be mounted on and removed from the head members, and extended so driving surfaces of projections on the head members and of the plungers are both in engagement with surfaces of the cavities.

  • Patent number: 9004472
Abstract: A five axis vise includes two separated vise body portions that are supported on a machine tool table or other support that fixes the vise body portions in position. The vise body portions have jaws spaced up from the machine tool table sufficiently to permit machining five surfaces of a work piece held in the jaws. A vise screw is rotatably mounted in one of the vise body portions, and extends to the other vise body portion to actuate a movable jaw on the other vise body portion. The vise screw is threaded into a jaw nut that has a drive surface that engages and drives a driven surface on the movable jaw, with the drive and driven surfaces being inclined relative to the axis of force application to provide a downward force component on the movable jaw as it is tightened. The vise screw is an assembly of a threaded shank or shaft and a hub that is rotatably mounted in one of the body portions, with the threaded shank or shaft being locked in position in the hub.

  • Patent number: 9004476
Abstract: A work orienting plate or angled vise parallel for use with a machine vise and which angled plate has first, second and third reference edges with the second and third reference edges being spaced apart side edges that are perpendicular to the first edge. Angled work piece support edges join the second and third reference edges, respectively. The angled work piece support edges are at different angles from one another so that a work piece can be supported on any one of the edges relative to a reference surface of a vise on which the work orienting plate is mounted to position the work piece at selected angles for machining angled surfaces.

  • Patent number: 8720874
Abstract: A lock pin assembly used for clamping two plates together, that have aligning bores for receiving the lock pin assembly. The lock pin assembly includes radially extending pins that can be forced outwardly from the center of a lock pin housing forming a part of the lock pin assembly. The actuator pins are forced outwardly and cooperate with a tapered surface on a bottom plate to create a clamping force relative to an end of the lock pin housing supportable on a top plate. The lock pin housing has cam tracks on an outer side thereof, and an actuator ring surrounds and supports the pin and carries cam followers sliding in the cam tracks. The cam tracks are made such that relative rotation of the lock pin housing and the actuator ring changes the axial location of the actuator ring along the housing.
