  • Patent number: 4183387
Abstract: An adapter for converting a standard square headed bolt to a T-Bolt for use with machine tools for holding workpieces to the bed thereof. The adapter includes a fabrication having a capturing area formed by downwardly extending legs of the unit for receiving and retaining the head of a square headed bolt and having transversely directed elements above such capturing area to be received into the guide slot of the machine tool bed. The combination of the capturing area and the transverse elements, with an aperture to pass the shaft of the bolt from the capturing area, provides a means for retaining a square headed bolt within the T-Slot of a machine tool bed such that the same may be used as a tool or workpiece hold down device.

  • Patent number: 4098500
Abstract: A locking jaw machine vise which includes a fixed jaw rigidly mounted on a frame, and a movable jaw slidably mounted on ways or guides for movement toward and away from the fixed jaw. The sliding jaw is driven by an actuating nut and screw. The actuating nut has an inclined surface that interlocks with the sliding jaw to provide a downward force on the sliding jaw to prevent the sliding jaw from tilting when it is clamped. A set screw is provided on the device to limit the amount of movement of the movable jaw toward the actuating nut to minimize any tendency of the jaw and the nut to bind on the ways or guides used for the sliding jaw.

  • Patent number: 3935811
Abstract: A bolster table device for a punch press includes a reciprocable table positioned upon a support plate and movable along guideways. The support plate and table have inclined confronting planar surfaces which engage each other when the table is in a retracted position whereby the entire impact load exerted by the punch press is transferred to the support plate. The inclined confronting planar surfaces of the table and support plate are spaced from each other when the table is shifted towards and away from the retracted position. The bolster table is reciprocated by a closed hydraulic system which is operated by a driven cam device.
