  • Patent number: 11934122
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a temperature sensor, a conveyance control portion, a driving control portion, an adjustment processing portion, and a stop processing portion. The temperature sensor is provided apart from a contact position between a fixing member and a transferred sheet to which a toner image has been transferred. The conveyance control portion continuously executes conveyance processes of conveying the transferred sheet. The driving control portion controls driving of a heater for heating the fixing member so that a temperature detected by the temperature sensor matches a predetermined temperature. The adjustment processing portion restricts the execution of the conveyance process until an adjustment process of adjusting a formation condition of the transferred sheet is completed. The stop processing portion stops the continuous execution of the conveyance processes when the restriction on the execution of the conveyance process continues beyond a predetermined timing.

  • Patent number: 11934291
Abstract: A method of logging thread parallelism data include executing a plurality of threads at a multicore processor associated with an operating system to perform symmetrical multiprocessing. The method also includes tracking, at a logging subsystem of the operating system, an accumulated runtime associated with each thread combination of the plurality of threads during execution of the plurality of threads. The accumulated runtime of a particular thread combination increases while the particular thread combination is running on the multicore processor in parallel. The method also include generating, at the logging subsystem, logging data indicating the accumulated runtime for each thread combination. The method further includes outputting the logging data. The logging data is usable to increase thread parallelism at the multicore processor.

  • Patent number: 11936834
Abstract: A spot color adjustment system allows an operator to adjust spot colors through the use of test charts printed at a printing device. A target color swatch is determined from a first spot color. A test chart is generated based on the target color swatch that includes a plurality of rings of color swatches centered on the target color swatch. Each ring of color swatches is positioned around the target color swatch at an adjustment value. The adjustment value for each ring of color swatches corresponds to a color change from the target color swatch. The system allows for determining a number of rings of color swatches depending on a selected paper size. The outer rings of a large number of rings of color include intermediary color swatches. A midpoint color is determined from a plurality of selected color swatches. The system provides color swatches showing gray component replacement.

  • Patent number: 11934116
Abstract: A transfer unit includes first and second rollers, a roller switching mechanism, and upstream-side and downstream-side guides. The second roller is arranged downstream of the first roller in the conveyance direction of the recording medium. The roller switching mechanism selectively arranges the first or second roller at a reference position to form a transfer nip. The upstream-side and downstream-side guides are respectively arranged upstream and downstream of the transfer nip in the conveyance direction of the recording member. When the first roller moves to the reference position by the roller switching mechanism, the second roller moves to a first retracted position behind the downstream-side guide, and when the second roller moves to the reference position by the roller switching mechanism, the first roller moves to a second retracted position behind the upstream-side guide.

  • Publication number: 20240085837
Abstract: In an image forming apparatus, in a case of duplex printing, a sheet is transported toward an image forming device along a sheet transport route, the image forming device forms an image on a first face, which is one of faces of the sheet, a reverse transport device reverses the front and back faces of the sheet and transports the sheet to a position upstream of a show-through reading device in a sheet transport direction, and the show-through reading device reads a second face, which is another face of the sheet. Then the show-through detector decides whether a show-through has occurred, on a basis of the image that has been read.

  • Patent number: 11927906
Abstract: A sheet processing apparatus includes a sensing processing portion, a determination processing portion, an acquisition processing portion, an acceptance processing portion, and a setting processing portion. The sensing processing portion senses a sheet size. The determination processing portion determines whether the sheet size corresponds to any of a plurality of standard sizes based on a result of the sensing by the sensing processing portion. The acquisition processing portion acquires sheet attribute information that is determined for each sheet type based on a result of the determination by the determination processing portion or the result of the sensing by the sensing processing portion. The acceptance processing portion accepts a selection operation of selecting any of the acquired sheet attribute information. The setting processing portion sets a processing condition of a sheet based on the sheet attribute information selected by the selection operation.

  • Patent number: 11921451
Abstract: An image forming apparatus connected to a user terminal includes: an apparatus side connecting part; a connection detecting part; an apparatus side mode switching part; and an apparatus side mode setting part. The apparatus side connecting part connects to the user terminal and outputs connection information. The connection detecting part detects whether or not the apparatus side connecting part is connected to the user terminal based on the connection information and outputs detection information. The apparatus side mode switching part outputs, based on the detection information, mode information indicating a mode to which a consumption amount of a resource consumed by the image forming apparatus is allocated. The apparatus side mode setting part sets, based on the mode information, an energy saving mode in which the consumption amount is reduced as compared with the consumption amount when the apparatus side connecting part and the user terminal are connected.
