Abstract: A vial for packing a substance to be smoked from the vial and a method of manufacturing the vial, the method of manufacturing including providing a glass vial, the glass vial having a first end portion and a second end portion connected by a tubular portion having a hollow interior, the first end portion being open and the second end portion being closed; applying heat to a section of the tubular portion to heat the section of the tubular portion; applying a pressure around the heated section of the tubular portion to collapse the section of the tubular portion into the hollow interior of the tubular portion; pressing the first end portion and the second end portion together until an exterior surface of the tubular portion surrounding the collapsed section is level with a remaining exterior surface of the tubular portion; and forming an opening in the second end portion.
Abstract: A system and method for controlling cooling in a computing device are provided. A measurement of power consumption of at least one of the computer components is received. A theoretical setting for the cooling system is determined based on the received measurement of power consumption. A current setting of the cooling system is identified. Based on a difference between the theoretical setting and the current setting, a next setting for the cooling system is determined. An output of the cooling system is controlled based on the next setting for the cooling system.
Abstract: A method and an apparatus is described for preventing bacteria proliferation in a bottom end of a water holding tank of an electric water heater. Different water convection devices are described for convecting heated water from inside the tank and into the bottom end of the tank to raise the temperature at the bottom end sufficiently high to prevent bacteria growth and particularly at a temperature of at least 46 degrees C. where the Legionella bacteria can not survive. The temperature at the bottom end of the tank is monitored and the convection devices controlled to maintain the desired hot water temperature. An added benefit of the invention is that it also prevents sediment deposits and water temperature stratification in the tank bottom end section.

Abstract: An apparatus for securing a cable access includes a first cable opening in a top plate of a server rack with a tray affixed to the interior side of the top plate and with a second cable opening that overlaps the first cable opening. A hatch element is movable in a space between the plate and tray to cover up the unneeded areas of the first and second cable openings after cables have been installed. A ratchet and pawl attached to the tray and hatch element cooperate to allow movement of the hatch element in a closing direction and resist movement of the hatch element in an opening direction, with a release element disengaging the ratchet and pawl to allow the hatch element to open.

Abstract: A multilevel rotating drive carrier includes stacked top, middle, and bottom drive-holding brackets. The top and middle brackets pivot about a parallel axis from a closed position to an open position to provide access to middle and bottom storage drives. The top bracket makes a storage drive accessible when the carrier is closed or open. Removing one storage drive does not require the disconnecting of another storage drive.
Abstract: To provide a resin composition for plating and a plated molded article which are excellent in impact resistance and fluidity and which satisfy plating adhesion strength, plating deposition rate and thermal cycle resistance in a well-balanced manner.
Abstract: An electromagnetic lock assembly includes a magnet block having a coil assembly and a connection for receiving an electrical current; and a control system having a detection circuit and an activation circuit, wherein the detection circuit senses a voltage across the coil and automatically sends an activation signal to the activation circuit when the voltage decreases from a supply voltage to a reference threshold voltage, the activation circuit increasing the electrical current through or the voltage across the coil assembly upon receipt of the activation signal. The electromagnetic lock assembly may further include an armature for coupling with the magnet block, wherein the supply voltage is configured by the control system to magnetically couple the armature and the magnet block absent an external separating force applied against the armature or magnet block.

Abstract: A ducting apparatus, switch, and rack of electronic devices are disclosed in which the ducting apparatus is configured to convey air from a cold aisle at a first face of the rack to a side air inlet of the switch. The ducting apparatus also hinders or prevents exhaust air from the switch from reaching the cold aisle.
