Abstract: In this process the material is passed through a precalcination device equipped with at least one fuel injector at the outlet of which a fuel injection zone is formed, then the at least partially calcined material is passed into the rotary kiln which at its downstream end, is equipped with a primary combustion unit. Abstract: In this process for purifying a gas by adsorption of a first impurity and of a second impurity, at least two main adsorbers (5A, 5B) and at least one auxiliary adsorber (6A, 6B) are used, the main adsorbers comprising a packing (8A, 8B, 9A, 9B) for adsorbing the first and second impurities. During at least a first step, the gas is purified by adsorbing the two impurities by passing through at least a first (5A, 5B) of the main adsorbers without passing through a first auxiliary adsorbers (6A, 6B), and simultaneously the second main adsorber (5A, 5B) and the or each auxiliary adsorbers (6A, 6B, 6) is regenerated in parallel, then, during a second step, at least some of the gas flow is purified by adsorption of the two impurities by passing in series through the first main adsorber (5A, 5B) and through the first auxiliary adsorber (6A, 6B). Application, for example, to the purification of air for the purpose of its distillation.

Abstract: A method for operating a boiler using oxygen-enriched oxidants includes introducing oxygen-enriched air, or oxygen and air, in which the oxygen concentration ranges from about 21% to about 100% by volume. Fuel and oxygen-enriched air are introduced into the combustion space within the steam-generating boiler. The fuel and oxygen-enriched air is combusted to generate thermal energy. At least a portion of the flue gases are collected and at least a portion are recirculated through the boiler. In the steam-generating boiler, the oxygen-enriched oxidant is introduced at one or more locations within the radiation zone and the convection zone of the boiler. Additionally, flue gas is collected and recirculated into one or more locations within the radiation zone and/or the convection zone of the boiler.

Abstract: A pressure swing adsorption cycle in which a regeneration phase is terminated by at least one final step in which a residual gas is withdrawn counter-current to the adsorber (1 to 3). A variable portion of the residual gas is recycled, representing from 0 to 30% of the flow of the purified gas product, into the impure gas to be treated, the rest of this residual gas constituting a purge. The duration of the cycle is reduced when this recycling is carried out, the more so as the recycle flow rate is the greater. The cycle has particular application in the production of hydrogen, helium or neon.
