Abstract: Methods for communicating risk of skin conditions due to exposure to sunlight and environmental conditions to individuals. Methods utilize geolocation data and environmental data to provide guidance and enable consumers to make informed decisions regarding outdoor activities, healthcare, and skincare. A photopollution metric is a function of ultraviolet index (UVI) and the level of a pollutant such as particulate matter (PM) and enables communication of risk of exposome-induced skin conditions to an individual based on environmental exposure.
Abstract: Hair treatment compositions and methods for using them is described. The hair treatment compositions include: (a) one or more fatty alcohols; (b) one or more cationic surfactants; (c) one or more cationic polymers; (d) one or more nonionic polymers; (e) citric acid, salts thereof, or combinations thereof; and (f) water.
Abstract: Applicators, container assemblies, kits, and methods for delivery of controlled, defined doses of cosmetic compositions to an individual's skin, hair, or other body part. An applicator includes a head that is slidably affixed to a shaft. The shaft includes a piston that is slidably positioned within the head. The head also includes a bias member that biases the head toward a distal position relative to the piston. As the bias member is overcome, the head slides down the shaft and the piston enters the head toward a deeper position within the head to displace and discharge the cosmetic from the interior of the head through an aperture of the head and onto the portion of the body of the individual. The applicator can be used for delivery of defined dosages of a variety of cosmetic compositions, including compositions with a relatively higher viscosity.

Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods for autonomous, semi-autonomous, and assisted manual application of a cosmetic style to a portion of skin (e.g., skin, hair, eyebrow) of a subject. A cosmetic deposition device includes an applicator component with a plurality of applicator nozzles and/or a movable applicator nozzle, a position sensor, and a reservoir for compositions for the cosmetic style. The device detects its position relative to the portion of skin and automatically corrects the deposition process with selective activation of one or more applicator nozzles of the plurality of applicator nozzles or selective movement of the movable applicator nozzle. These approaches enable automatic correction of application of the composition in real time.

Abstract: In some embodiments, a computer-implemented method of accurately reproducing a color of a mixed product is provided. A color management computing system receives one or more inputs indicative of a target color. The color management computing system transmits a command to a product mixing device to dispense color component products to be mixed to create a mixed product of a first color. The color management computing system obtains an image that includes the mixed product. The color management computing system updates a display color correction profile based on a comparison of a captured color of the mixed product in the image to the target color. The color management computing system presents one or more instances on a display device of an adjusted target color indicative of the updated display color correction profile, in response to receiving a subsequent request to change the target color.
