Abstract: A system, method, and device for driving a converter including two input terminals, two output terminals, a piezoelectric resonator, and a plurality of switches connected to the resonator, a first switch being connected between an input terminal and the resonator and switchable between an open position and a closed position where an input voltage is applied to the resonator. The device includes a module for measuring an output variable, a module for controlling a switching of the switches to alternate phases with a substantially constant voltage and a substantially constant load at the terminals of the resonator, and a module for detecting a characteristic event dependent on the output variable. In the event of detection of the event, the control module commands the first switch into the open position for the duration of at least one resonance cycle.

Abstract: A downhole tool of this disclosure includes a set/reset ring located adjacent a gauge ring which is opposite at least one sealing member. The set/reset ring is arranged to move between an unset diameter at least equal to the unset diameter of the sealing member and a set diameter at least equal to the set diameter of the sealing member. The set/reset ring is like a coil spring having at least two full turns and, therefore, a 360° face surface when in its unset and set diameters. When a setting mandrel moves toward the sealing member, the sealing member moves to its set diameter and the set/reset ring moves into its set diameter. When the setting mandrel moves away from the sealing member, the sealing member returns to its unset diameter and the set/reset ring returns to its unset diameter.
Abstract: A method for integrating a sensor into a metal part including creating, by additive printing, of a first portion of the part, including a volume for housing a sensor. The volume has a width greater than that of the sensor. The method also includes depositing the sensor in said housing volume and creating, by additive printing, a second portion of the part covering the sensor and forming a molten puddle in the housing volume, on either side of the sensor.
