Abstract: A mechanism for use in motion furniture that reduces the complexity and links of typical linkage mechanisms. The mechanism has a base plate and a footrest mechanism. The mechanism also includes a seat support link coupled to the footrest mechanism and front and rear pivot links rotatably coupled to the seat support link and slidably and rotatably coupled to the base plate. An ottoman drive link is slidably and rotatably coupled to an intermediate portion of the front pivot link and rotatably coupled to an intermediate portion rear pivot link. A primary ottoman link couples the ottoman drive link and the footrest mechanism. The primary ottoman link is rotatably coupled to the seat support link at an intermediate portion, so that the primary ottoman link and the ottoman drive link cooperate to move footrest mechanism between a closed chair position and an open recliner position.

Abstract: A multi-needle quilting machine (10) and method in which provided bridges (21,22) are provided having selectively operable stitching element pairs (90). Either the material or the bridges or both may be moved relative to the frame. Control schemes are provided to quilt continuous patterns, discrete patterns, linked multiple patterns, 360 degree patterns, closely spaced patterns. A plurality of small presser feet (158) are provided, each for one or more needles (132), with a wide spacing for material passage between the needle and looper plates. Combinations of intermittent and continuous feed and feed transition are employed during tack sequence sewing and other direction reversals in sewing, as well as double needle guards and thread deflection.

Abstract: This invention is related to a knock down frame attachment system. The knock down frame attachment system includes a seating portion, a pair of side panels and a plurality of sets of mounting brackets. A set includes both a left and a right mounting bracket. A set of brackets are coupled to each side of the seating portion and to both side panels. Thus, two sets of brackets are required to attach a side panel to the seating portion.

Abstract: An ergonomic support for an automobile seat includes a pivoting bolster on a mounting rod. Behind the bolster is a slide rod. A lever is disposed between the bolster and the slide rod. The lever is pivotally attached to a medial position of the bolster and the lever is slidingly engaged with the slide rod. A traction cable has a sleeve mounted to a bracket on the mounting rod and a wire attached to the lever. Traction on the traction cable moves the lever, which causes the bolster to extend.

Abstract: A fold down seat back has an ergonomic support device in it. A traction cable is operatively engaged at one end with the lumbar support device to actuate it. The fold down seat back includes a rotating cable tension unit and a fixed torsion bar. The rotating member moves relative to the fixed member when said fold down seat back is folded down. The traction cable is comprised of a sleeve having a first end and a second end and a wire having a first end and a second end. The wire is disposed to slide axially through the sleeve. The first sleeve end is attached to the rotating cable tension unit. The wire end is attached to the fixed torsion bar. The wire end may be attached to the torsion rod with a pulley. These attachments of the sleeve end and the wire end cause the wire to be drawn axially through the sleeve when the seat back is folded up, extending a lumbar support, and cause the wire to be relaxed when the seat back is folded down, flattening the lumbar support.

Abstract: A fold down seat back or seat bottom has at least one ergonomic support device in it. A traction cable is operatively engaged at one end with the ergonomic support device to actuate it. The fold down seat back includes a rotating cable tension unit and a fixed torsion bar. The rotating member moves relative to the fixed member when said fold down seat back is folded up. The traction cable is comprised of a sleeve having a first end and a second end and a wire having a first end and a second end. The wire is disposed to slide axially through the sleeve. The first sleeve end is attached to the rotating cable tension unit. The wire end is attached to the fixed torsion bar. The wire end may be attached to the torsion rod with a pulley.

Abstract: An adjustable bed including a stationary frame is supported above a floor. An articulated deck comprising head, seat, leg and foot deck boards hingedly joined together is spaced above the frame with connectors. The connectors include generally inverted U-shaped tubes pivotally secured to the frame and secured to the deck boards. A gas spring is operatively coupled to the head deck board and pivotally secured to the frame. Activation of the gas spring in cooperation with the operator moves the deck boards.

Abstract: A bi-layered fire resistant (FR) nonwoven fiber batt and an associated method for manufacturing the same. The bi-layered FR nonwoven fiber batt includes a first, gray, FR layer, formed from a blend of black oxidized polyacrylonitrile (oxidized PAN), white dry polyester carrier fibers and white low-melt polyester binder fibers, and a second, white, layer, formed from a blend of white FR rayon, white dry polyester carrier fibers and white low-melt polyester binder fibers, disposed in a conforming relationship with the first, gray, FR layer.

Abstract: This invention is directed to a mattress assembly. The mattress assembly has a first mattress that has an inner-spring construction. Disposed above the first mattress is a second mattress that has an air bladder construction. The air bladder of the second mattress has a valve, which is located adjacent the head end of the mattress. The valve is adapted to selectively allow air into and out of the air bladder. The mattress assembly thus provides the combination of an innerspring mattress with an air mattress. The location of the valve allows the air mattress portion to be deflated properly and allows convenient access to the valve for inflation or air pressure adjustment purposes.

Abstract: A laterally displaceable guide track for a bale binding apparatus includes a carriage with a guide track portion mounted on it with a hinge. The guide track portion has an engaged position and a disengaged position. The engaged position is aligned with at least one other guide track portion to define a bale loop plane, and the disengaged position is out of the bale loop plane. The mount allows the guide track portion to be moved between the engaged position and the disengaged position. The disengaged position allows the carriage to be withdrawn from a baling station for ejection of a finished bale.

Abstract: A product fronting assembly and method for fronting product is provided. In some embodiments, the assembly includes a base having a bottom, a front, a rear, and opposite sides. The assembly can also include a frame slidable within the base and having a front at least partially defining a handle and opposed sides coupled to the front of the frame. The opposed sides can be spaced a distance apart and between which product upon the base is received, and can be positioned to rest and slide upon the bottom and/or sides of the base. In some embodiments, the frame also includes a rear coupled to the opposed sides and movable by movement of the front of the frame to front product in the assembly.

Abstract: A resilient structure having a fiber batt with coil springs disposed therein and respective coil spring paths. Each of the coil spring paths extending from a respective coil spring and having a profile similar to a cross-sectional profile of the respective coil spring taken in a plane parallel to a length of the coil spring. A method is also provided for heating the coil springs and inserting the coil springs into a side wall of the fiber batt to produce the coil spring paths that have a profile similar to a cross-sectional profile of the respective coil spring taken in a plane parallel to a length of the coil spring.

Abstract: Disclosed are uni-layer and bi-layer FR nonwoven fiber batts formed of various blends of charring fibers such as FR treated rayon, oxygen-depleting fibers such as modacrylic fibers and nonwoven fibers such as carrier fibers and binder fibers and associated methods for forming the same. Variously, the uni-layer and bi-layer FR nonwoven fiber batts may include layers formed entirely of blends of charring fibers and nonwoven fibers, layers formed entirely of blends of oxygen-depleting fibers and nonwoven fibers and/or layers formed of blends of charring fibers, oxygen-depleting fibers and nonwoven fibers.

Abstract: An active bolster adjustment apparatus for use in vehicle seats includes a mounting plate connected with the vehicle seat. An adjustable bolster slider is in sliding communication with the mounting plate, and has an adjustment arm and a pressure surface. A drive unit having an actuator and a gear set and the gear set is in direct communication with the adjustable bolster slider.

Abstract: The lower guide track sections for a bale binder engaged with a down press include a platen portion substantially as long as a platen slot and dimensioned for deployment within the platen slot. Track extensions extend outward from the platen. The first extension has a strap receiving end face that to cooperates with a first strap guide track on a carriage such that the first strap guide track on the first carriage is dimensioned to index laterally beyond a press frame. A second extension having a strap exit end face cooperates with a second strap guide track on a second carriage such that the second strap guide track on the second carriage is dimensioned to index laterally beyond the press frame. First and second guide track sections are mounted on laterally displaceable carriages and each have an exit end face, the end faces operatively cooperate with the receiving end faces of the extensions.

Abstract: The present invention is an ejector drive hub. The ejector drive hub comprises an axial through hole in a cylinder with a slot in the circumferential side wall of the cylinder. The slot truncates less than 180° of the cylinder. The ejector drive hub has an engagement face for a cam or pawl to drive it rotationally. A radial through hole in the slot forms a communicating opening between the slot and the axial through hole. The ejector drive hub further comprises a mount adapted to maintain a drive pawl in operative position relative to the radial through hole. The ejector drive hub further has at least one notch for engagement of a latch to maintain the ejector drive hub in a stationary position during knotting. The ejector drive hub has a boss to actuate an ejector. The boss and the disc portion of the ejector drive hub are integrally fabricated from a single piece of material as by machining.

Abstract: A unitary composite cam member is designed for integration into a rocker chair base assembly. In one arrangement, one cam member resides upon each longitudinal rail of the rocker chair base assembly. Each cam member includes a rigid body and one or more laterally projecting sleeves. The rigid body has an upper portion as well as a lower contact surface presenting an arcuate longitudinal profile. The shape of the contact surface enables rolling engagement on a longitudinal rail of a rocker chair base assembly. Each projecting sleeve extends laterally from the rigid body at a location generally near the top of the cam member. The projecting sleeves are designed to provide an attachment point for cross members of a rocker chair base assembly to accomplish coupling together of the cam members with each aligned upon one of the longitudinal rails.

Abstract: An adjustable bed having an upper frame mounted to translate with respect to a lower frame. A center support is connected to the upper frame and has a head support pivotally connected to one end thereof. A thigh support is pivotally connected to the other end of the center support and a foot support is connected to the other end of the thigh support. The bed includes an improved mounting for a massage motor in which a massage motor is suspended from a mounting plate having openings therein resting on a mattress pad or base supported by an articulated support platform.
