Abstract: A wireless device (24) receives a reference signal over a radio channel (21). The reference signal may be Positioning Reference Signals (PRS) and/or Common Referencing Signals (CRS), and may be transmitted from a transmitter (22). The wireless device (24) comprises a correlator (100); a reference signal detector (102); a threshold selector (106); and a reference signal analyzer (108). The correlator (100) use a signal received from the radio channel (21) and a replica of the reference signal to provide a correlator output value. The reference signal detector (102) compares the correlator output value with a threshold value to detect presence of a reference signal, and to estimate an arrival time of the reference signal. The threshold selector (106) adapts the threshold value to at least an estimate of a relative amount of noise and interference power in the received signal.

Abstract: A generic method is described for storing data in the HSS (2) by the S-CSCF (1) of an IMS. When a SIP message containing new information relating to an IMPI/IMPU pair is received by the S-CSCF (1), a data package is created for storage at the HSS (2), containing the new information. An SAR command is sent to the HSS (2) containing an AVP including an instruction to the HSS (2) and the new data package. In one aspect a unique data package is controlled by the S-CSCF (1). When new information relating to the IMPI/IMPU is received in a SIP message, this is added to any previously sent data package to create a new data package. In another aspect the HSS (2) controls a unique data package, returning the data package to the S-CSCF (1) to be amended if necessary. In another aspect separate data packages are used.

Abstract: The invention presents methods and corresponding devices for improving cooperative spectrum initiating sensing. A device (61;61.1) first receives an invitation (17;35) to participate in cooperative spectrum sensing. The device performs an autonomous decision (19) on whether or not to participate in the cooperative spectrum sensing in response to the invitation. If it is determined to participate in the cooperative spectrum sensing to which the invitation relates, spectrum sensing is then performed (21;45). With the invention, sensor selection becomes “distributed”, i.e. it is up to the device itself to decide on participation in the cooperative sensing, rather than having, for example, a central entity determining what devices should act as sensors in the cooperative spectrum sensing. One advantage is that the amount of signalling required for sensor selection can be kept at a minimum, thereby saving communication resources.

Abstract: An improved melting furnace including a crucible and a plurality of parallel conductors of identical height surrounding the crucible having at least one descending portion (9) and one ascending portion (10). The benefit from this arrangement is that the conductors all have a portion located at each heating height which guarantees density uniformity of the currents flowing in the conductors even if the load of the crucible has superimposed regions for which the electrical resistivity is different.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for prioritizing source Media Access Control (MAC) address miss processing is described. In one embodiment of the invention, a network bridge receives multiple frames (each including a source MAC address) at multiple ports of multiple line cards. If a source MAC address of a received frame is associated with a different port than which it was received on, the network bridge places a source MAC miss message in a high priority MAC move miss queue. If a source MAC address of a received frame is not associated with any of the ports of the network bridge, the network bridge places a source MAC miss message in a low priority unknown MAC miss queue. The network bridge processes those source MAC miss messages in the high priority queue with a higher priority than processing those source MAC miss messages in the low priority queue.
Abstract: A method implemented in a host node for communicating with a corresponding node through one of a plurality of available networks that includes: receiving a request to initiate a connection with the corresponding node from an application executing on a host node, sending a request to a DNS64 node for an address of the corresponding node, receiving a virtual IPv6 address for the corresponding node with a generic prefix, selecting a connection to one of the plurality of networks through which the data is to be forwarded to the corresponding node, and sending the data to the corresponding node using a virtual IPv6 address for the corresponding node with the prefix of the NAT64 node in the network of the selected connection, whereby the host node is able to maintain connectivity with the corresponding node despite having connections to the plurality of networks that each have NAT64 nodes.
Abstract: Improved spur reduction architectures that improve linearity in direct radio frequency (RF) receiver architectures. Non-uniform sampling in the form of sampling clock phase (or frequency) modulation is used to induce phase (or frequency) modulation on signals that are being received from a given Nyquist zone. At the output of the ADC (analog-to-digital converter), the signals are de-modulated to remove the induced modulation based on the Nyquist zone that is being received. The de-modulation process results in non-desired spurious artifacts (interfering leakage signals and ADC spurs) being spread in the frequency domain. Strong spurious artifacts may be removed after measuring the induced modulation and de-modulating. For the case of weak spurious artifacts, the de-modulation for the desired Nyquist zone spread these signals in the frequency domain. Induced modulation on signals may also provide a dithering effect on the ADC.

Abstract: The present invention involves traffic management in a communication system (1) comprising multiple communication terminal (10, 200) that each has data flows presented in transmit buffers (14, 220). The terminals (10, 200) utilize a default priority scheme for selecting data from the buffers (14, 220) to transmit at transmission occasions determined by a schedule scheme. A switching event is detected based on information of an estimate distribution of data flows in a first portion (2) of the system (1). A priority scheme update message is generated based on this event detection. The update message comprises information of a temporary priority scheme that is to be used by terminals (10, 200) in a second portion (2; 5) of the system (1). By using this temporary scheme that assigns new temporary priorities to the data flows, a local shaping of the transmission pattern and data flow distribution in the second system portion (2; 5) is possible.
