Abstract: The invention discloses a method for a cellular communications system, in which traffic is sent in frames, each frame comprising a first number of subframes, with a second number of said subframes being available for at least either uplink or downlink traffic. At least one of said second number of subframes is made to comprise at least three parts, as follows: One part which is utilized for uplink traffic, One part which is utilized for downlink traffic, One part which is utilized as a guard period, with said guard period part being scheduled between the uplink and the downlink parts. The duration of at least two of said three parts may be varied to fit the current system need.

Abstract: The invention provides an establishment of a secret session key shared Between two network elements (NEa, NEb) belonging to different network domains (NDa, NDb). A first network element (NEa) of a first network domain (NDa) requests security parameters from an associated key management center (KMC) (AAAa). Upon reception of the request, the KMC (AAAa) generates a freshness token (FRESH) and calculates the session key (K) based on this token (FRESH) and a master key (KAB) shared with a second network domain (NDb). The security parameters are (securely) provided to the network element (NEa), which extracts the session key (K) and forwards the freshness token (FRESH) to the KMC (AAAb) of the second domain (NDb) through a second network element (NEb). Based on the token (FRESH) and the shared master key (KAB), the KMC (AAAb) generates a copy of the session key (K), which is (securely) provided to the second network element (NEb).

Abstract: A method and device disclose how to drain a liquid coating metal from the two sides of a running steel strip. The method transfers a strip coated with a liquid coating metal, as it runs at the tank outlet, from a region not subjected to a magnetic field to another region subjected to a static magnetic field generated between the poles of magnetic members arranged opposite each other on either side of the strip and having field lines, or at least a main shell of the field lines, intersecting with the strip over at least one minimum longitudinal extent so that the liquid coating metal is correlatively subjected to a magnetic field variation generating on the liquid metal a force opposite to the running direction. Due to the low field variation, this magnetic braking effect generates little Foucault current in the strip.

Abstract: A glider-recliner-style seating unit (glider recliner) that includes a linkage mechanism adapted to move the glider recliner between closed, extended, and reclined positions is provided. The glider recliner is powered by a linear actuator that facilitates automated adjustment of the linkage mechanism. This adjustment of the linear actuator is sequenced into a first phase and a second phase. A stroke of the linear actuator in the first phase acts to adjust the linkage mechanism between the closed and extended positions by extending or retracting ottoman(s) attached to a footrest assembly. Abstract: In a Base Station Subsystem adapted to provide an earthquake and Tsunami Warning System notification message to a User Equipment accessing a cellular radio system using a GSM/EDGE Radio Access Network, GERAN, means are provided for receiving an earthquake and tsunami warning system notification from an emergency centre. In addition means are provided for transmitting the earthquake and tsunami warning system notification to the User Equipment located in affected areas of the message over the Fast Associated Control Channel, FACCH, if the User Equipment is in GERAN dedicated mode and over the Packet Associated Control Channel, PACCH, if the User Equipment is in GERAN packet transfer mode.

Abstract: A method is provided for determining a correlation between a reference user and another user on the basis of two sets of ratings, where each rating is associated with a respective user. In response to a trigger,user ratings associated with the reference user and user ratings associated with the other user are collected, and all co-rated items of these two sets are correlated in the basis of an adjusted cosine correlation function which is weighted by a first and a second weighting function. The correlation is then stored and may be repeated for a plurality of users. The stored correlations may be used e.g. for ranking purposes.

Abstract: Systems and methods according to these exemplary embodiments provide for improving communications systems which use home gateways or the like. Abstract: A recycled energy absorptive/moisture resistive underlayment includes a recycled energy absorbing layer comprised of either a nonwoven fiber batt formed from shoddy fibers or a foam pad formed from bonded foam. To protect the recycled energy absorbing layer from moisture, a moisture barrier is laminated on either one or preferably both side surfaces of the recycled energy absorbing layer. The moisture barrier laminated on a lower side surface of the recycled energy absorbing layer has a projecting flap which projects from first and second edge surfaces of the recycled energy absorbing layer to which the moisture barrier is laminated to the lower side surface thereof. The projecting flap enhances protection of the recycled energy absorbing layer from moisture by preventing moisture from migrating through seams and/or other exposed portions of the recycled energy absorbing layer.

It is characterised by the fact that the above-mentioned polar rotation axis is assembled in a flip-top frame around an axis of rotation that joins the above-mentioned parallel support profiles. Therefore, in folded position the above-mentioned polar rotation axis stays in the plane determined by said parallel support profiles with their ends contiguous to each of the profiles. Consequently, in lifted position the above-mentioned polar rotation axis remains inclined with regard to the horizontal plane and in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the parallel support profiles. It all makes the invention particularly light and of easy and quick assembly, especially adapted for its installation on building roofs.

Abstract: The present invention relates to novel octapeptide compounds of general formula (I): H-2-Nal1-cyclo(Cys2-Tyr3-AA4-Lys5-Val6-Cys7)-Thr8-NH2. Since these products have a good affinity for certain somatostatin receptor subtypes, they are particularly advantageous for treating pathological states or diseases in which one (or more) somatostatin receptor(s) is (are) involved. These compounds furthermore have physiochemical properties that make it possible to envisage them in diverse solutions for the formulation of medicaments, for example as a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. The invention also relates to pharmaceutical compositions containing said products and to the use thereof for the preparation of a medicament.
