Abstract: A system and method in a radio receiver for joint synchronization and noise covariance estimation of a received signal. A spatially and temporally stacked signal model, whereby successive samples of temporally adjacent received signal vectors and corresponding training vectors are stacked, is used in the derivation of the estimation problem. The Toeplitz structure of the channel response matrix is neglected in the formulation of the estimation problem. The resulting estimator jointly estimates a synchronization position, a channel response matrix, and a noise covariance matrix. An estimate of a whitened channel is then computed based on the noise covariance matrix and the estimate of the channel response matrix.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a process for treating keratin fibers artificially dyed by direct dyeing or by oxidation dyeing, such as human hair, which comprises the application to the keratin fibers of a composition not containing any oxidation dye or any oxidizing agent and comprising at least one protective agent with a log P of less than or equal to 6, and then the application to the fibers of a liquid water/steam mixture at a temperature of at least 35° C. The present disclosure also relates to the use of the process for protecting keratin fibers artificially dyed by direct dyeing or by oxidation dyeing, such as human hair, against the action of atmospheric agents, such as against the action of light.

Abstract: Method and nodes are provided for propagating between the nodes information about processing capacity of peer nodes. Two types of signals are sent from propagating nodes towards their peer nodes. A propagating node sends first signal type at a constant rate and a second signal type at a variable rate. A ratio of the rates calculated at a peer node represents the processing capacity available a propagating node. Sequence numbers may be added to signals of the first and second type in order to assist peer nodes in detecting capacity issues.

Abstract: The aim of the present invention is to provide a method for attaching a protein to a conductive polymer, that can be used in particular for producing a sensor or a multisensor, for example a biochip. This aim, and also others, are achieved, in accordance with the invention, by means of a method for attaching a protein to a pyrrole polymer, comprising the following steps: coupling of the protein to be attached with pyrrole so as to obtain a first solution of a protein-pyrrole coupling compound, preparation of a second solution of pyrrole not containing the protein, mixing of said first solution with said second solution so as to obtain an electropolymerization solution, electropolymerization of the pyrrole and of the protein coupled to the pyrrole on a conductive support using said electropolymerization solution.

Abstract: In order to symmetrically act on a support member (20) of a support assembly on both sides using a single Bowden cable (18), a traction cable arrangement is used with comprises the Bowden cable, a first traction wire (17), and a coupling device (16) for coupling the first traction wire (17) to the Bowden cable (18). The first traction wire (17) is fixedly attached to the coupling device (16) and extends therefrom in a first direction. The sheath of the Bowden cable (18) is fixedly attached to the coupling device (16), and the wire of the Bowden cable (18) extends from the coupling device (16) in a second direction substantially opposite to the first direction and forms a second traction wire (19). The first traction wire (17) and the second traction wire (19) are slidably held on the support member (20) and are connected to a seat frame (30) at their ends.

Abstract: A method for power measurements in a cellular communication system comprises receiving measurement configuration orders. Operation of a power meter is controlled in dependence on the measurement configuration orders. Reference signal received powers are measured. A measurement report is compiled and transmitted. The measurement configuration orders comprise cell status information associated with neighbouring cells and measurement instructions that are dependent of the cell status of respective cell. The cell status information comprises information about whether the neighbouring cell is of a different type than the serving cell. Controlling of the operation of the power meter and/or compiling of the measurement report is performed in dependence on the cell status of the neighbouring cell. A method for handover based on such measurement reports is also disclosed as well as Node Bs and user equipments configured to perform such methods.

Abstract: A print control method and device, wherein the method includes: monitoring a print system port, storing a print task at a preset memory address in the form of job file when the print task exists at the print system port; querying the memory address on schedule, determining the target job file when there is a job file storing at the memory address; querying the printer state, if the printer is idle, sending the target job file; when the printer is in a state of failure, feeding a failure state prompting information back. The solution queries the printer work state before the job file is sent, feeds the prompting information back when the printer occurs failure, detects the print process state of job files, and performs a processing for failure when a print fails. Through the solution, users can know the states of job files in time and missing or omitting of a job file is avoided.

Abstract: A method and system for providing call pickup service in an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) communication network is described. When call pickup is to be invoked, an IMS network node, e.g., a core network node or an application server, receives a Globally Routable User Agent URI (GRUU) associated with one of a plurality of devices which is to be used to pick up a call that is in the process of being placed to another device in a call pickup group. The IMS network node determines whether the one of the plurality of devices is authorized to pick up the call based, at least in part, on the received GRUU. Then, the IMS network node transmits a message to establish the call with that one of the plurality of devices.

Abstract: Among other things, embodiments described herein enable systems, e.g., Availability Management Forum (AMF) systems, having service units to operate with balanced loads both before and after the failure of one of the service units. A configuration can be generated which provides for distributed backup roles and balanced active loads. When a failure of a service unit occurs, the active loads previously handled by that service unit are substantially evenly picked up as active loads by remaining service units.

Abstract: A method of generating a motion vector with sub-pixel resolution associated with a first portion of a first image frame in a sequence of image frames for encoding the sequence of image frames is disclosed. An error surface represents a difference between image data of the first portion of the first image frame and image data of a second portion of a second image frame, displaced with a displacement vector in relation to the first portion, and is a function of the displacement vector. The motion vector is an estimate of a displacement vector that minimizes the value of the error surface. The method includes obtaining a coarse motion vector, which is an estimate of the motion vector with integer-pixel resolution, approximating the error surface in a neighborhood of the coarse motion vector with a biquartic polynomial, and representing terms of the biquartic polynomial with orthogonal polynomials.

Abstract: A method and telecommunications node for implementing Tandem-Free Operation (TFO) between a pair of TFO partners in a telecommunications network. At call setup, a TFO negotiation is performed between the partners. Thereafter, if TFO is interrupted in at least one direction, state information and synchronization of the sending and/or receiving partner is maintained in the interrupted direction. An interruption may occur, for example, if a tone or announcement is to be sent. At the end of the interruption, sending and receiving of TFO frames is resumed with the same phase that was present before the interruption.
